Recent research from "Giving in Faith: Exploring Key Trends in Religious Giving,' a joint 2024 report from Givelify and Indiana University's Lake Institute on Faith & Giving, reveals that faith-based givers aren't just supporting their places of worship—they're also generously giving to friends, family, and even strangers in need. In fact, 60% of donations go to strangers, showcasing the incredible generosity of people of faith. Based on responses from 2,000 religious Americans and 980 faith leaders, the report highlights the leadership of Black congregations in offering essential community support services. Despite inflation and rising costs, over 53% of all respondents reported donating to other registered nonprofit organizations, underscoring the enduring generosity of people of faith. Cultivating a Culture of Generosity: Insights for Church Leaders Recent research from the UK has unveiled a significant opportunity for increased giving among Christian communities. This study offers valuable insights for church leaders seeking to nurture a culture of generosity. Key Findings: •Practicing Christians have the potential to donate 3.5 times more than current levels. •Trust is a crucial factor: 76% of regular donors have high trust in their church. •Major giving obstacles: financial constraints and skepticism about fund utilization. As a stewardship consultant, I recognize that unlocking this potential requires intentional leadership. Here are three actionable steps to build trust and encourage generous giving: →Embrace Radical Transparency: Implement clear, regular financial reporting that demonstrates faithful stewardship. Show your congregation exactly how their gifts are transforming lives and advancing the Kingdom. →Celebrate Kingdom Impact: Consistently share stories that connect donations to tangible outcomes. Help your congregation see how their generosity is making a difference in your community and beyond. →Foster Deeper Engagement: Create opportunities for meaningful dialogue about the church's vision and financial stewardship. Engage members in the process of discerning how to best use resources for Kingdom impact. Remember, stewardship is about more than money – it's about cultivating hearts that trust God and respond to His generosity. By focusing on these areas, we can help bridge the gap between current giving and the incredible potential that exists within our faith communities. ArtsHERE Statement of Interest Closes: January 19, 2024!! https://lnkd.in/g_z2mw_8 FUNDED ORGANIZATIONS WILL RECEIVE: Investment: Managed by South Arts, ArtsHERE will award approximately 95 nonprofit organizations with nonmatching grants of $65,000 to $130,000. Grants are for specific projects that will strengthen each organization’s capacity to sustain meaningful community engagement and increase arts participation for underserved groups/communities. Learning: ArtsHERE will offer grantees peer-learning and technical assistance opportunities, designed to share knowledge and build networks. Evaluation: As a pilot program, ArtsHERE will be documented and evaluated by the National Endowment for the Arts to better understand the project activities supported through this program and how grantees approached the work, and to inspire others. The evaluation will result in a summary of lessons learned and may inform the future of ArtsHERE and other similar funding programs and practices.
