I hope she does it - I agree with Frank Luntz that if you see on live TV a group of State police, NYC officers, and Letitia James and her entourage get out of a bunch of SUVs and walk to Trump Tower and serve papers to the building manager - you will absolutely guarantee a Trump election landslide - and you'll likely scare the hell out of anyone that owns a business in NY - I think you'll see people leaving that state. This is also going to scare Americans - it's bad enough we can't secure our border and we 9 million illegals in all 50 states living on the US taxpayers dime - but when you can use laws however you wish - charge people with fraud in which there is no victim - and then come up with a $454 million dollar judgment that very few people on the planet could ever pay - and you can do this to a former president - in plain site - it means you can do this to any American and get away with it. Do it Letitia - Do it - this was your campaign pledge - to get Trump - you didn't even have a crime or reason - you couldn't find one - so you created one. Finish the job Letitia - go take the building that bears his name that is his prize possession - show the American public exactly what your party stands for - make him a victim - guarantee he wins the election... As consumers, we rely heavily on regulatory bodies to guide us in making informed decisions, especially when it comes to significant financial transactions like selling property or selecting a property manager. The NSW Property Licensing Portal was designed with the intent to assist consumers in verifying the qualifications and compliance history of real estate agents, agencies, and strata managers. This platform, accessible at [(https://lnkd.in/gETrkwxM), is supposed to be a trustworthy resource for consumers. However, recent concerns have surfaced about the accuracy of the information being provided by this very platform. Despite its purpose to protect consumers, there is growing evidence that Fair Trading NSW, the watchdog responsible for maintaining the portal, may not be updating data regarding the compliance status of real estate professionals. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲: 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? The portal includes a disclaimer that states, "The information contained in this public register is limited to information which the Commissioner for Fair Trading is required to maintain under section 220 of the Property and Stock Agents Act and clause 58 of the Property and Stock Agents Regulation." It also mentions that while efforts are made to ensure the accuracy of the information, the Commissioner "encourages you to make your own enquiries with the licensee or registered practitioner." This caveat essentially admits that the information provided may not be fully reliable, raising the question: Why does the register exist in its current form? Why would they rely on the agent? 𝐀 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 More concerning is how the compliance section of the public register presents its data. Regardless of whether an agent or agency has received fines, warnings, or disciplinary actions, the portal displays a green tick next to their name, suggesting full compliance. This is misleading at best. Senior officials have clarified that this section is not intended to "name and shame agents," but this approach may be doing more harm than good. Consumers may unknowingly engage with agents who have questionable histories, all because of a misleading green tick that falsely assures them of the agent’s clean record. A search revealed that agents that have had their license cancelled for trust account fraud but not for things such as warning or penalties. Company accused of selling illegally obtained personal data to robocallers settles with FTC. Here's what you need to know: 1. Response Tree LLC, a California-based company accused of using deceptive practices to gather personal data, has agreed to settle with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The settlement includes a suspended $7 million fine and a commitment to cease facilitation of robocalls. 2. The company allegedly operated over 50 "consent farm" websites, tricking consumers into providing personal information under the guise of phony service agreements and then selling this data to third-party telemarketers executing illegal calls, even to numbers listed on the national Do Not Call registry. 3. The complaint revealed that Response Tree executives knowingly sold the information without adequate consent from the users. At its peak, the company was selling up to 50,000 illegal leads daily.
