Zero shift remains within 1 MOA (minute of angle) after removal and reattachment. That's only 1/60 degree for those non-techees. Military standard requires accuracy within 1/2 mrad (1.72 MOA). Well within that.

Voltage variable attenuators (VA) have numerous applications in microwave and #mmWave systems. However, at frequencies above 50 GHz, most VAs are either based on PIN diodes or resistive vanes with motor-driven mechanical actuators. That is why we developed a line of VAs based on the physics of Faraday rotation. Our design uses a magnetic coil to produce a variable magnetic bias field in a ferrite rod. Using this approach, we have produced VAs in WR-10 and WR-6.5 with full waveguide band operation and relatively high-power handling as compared to other technologies. These VAs are compact, lightweight, and insensitive to electrostatic discharge damage. Here at the MTC, we have the knowledge and expertise on how to use laser ablation to create micro-features on circuit boards. In a recent case study, our experts in laser processing were challenged with issues caused by thermal cycles where the components are exposed to heat and therefore result in significant stress on the circuit board. By using an ultrashort pulsed (USP) laser, we managed to solve this challenge, as copper can be intricately patterned to improve bonding between the component and substrate, relieve stress, and design tracks.
