Today's video on an article I saw this morning about how the Paris Olympics apparently suffered 140 cyberattacks during the games. While the number seems low for a major 2-week event it did prompt me to think about cyebrsecurity for smart cities and all that connected infrastructure we rely on to go about our days safely:

Ahead by a Century: remembering the 1924 Paris Olympics
All Olympic Games are important, but the 1924 Summer Games in Paris stand out for the start of live radio transmissions, the creation of the Olympic Village, and the introduction of the motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger.”
The modern Games ushered in a new era of international sports competitions that has only continued to expand in size and spectacle since 1924.

When the world is immersed in gold tallies at the olympics, here is an example of what defines the true spirit of olympics - the pursuit for excellence and stretch of human potential and limits
Armand Duplantis proves that it’s this spirit that makes olympics unique and not the reward by continuing to vault even after he had secured the Olympic gold, to challenge his personal limits in the recent pole vault event at Paris.
He proved that the reward is just the validation of the journey. Most times the pursuit for excellence can itself be a reward.
If we were to compare this example to our rewards practises in corporates, can we say that we are successful at creating reward systems that instead of the quest for the reward aims at maximising the potential where reward is nothing but just a validator?
