A lot of discussion about whether and what synergy exists between HR and ERP systems. If you ask about it separately from the HR supplier and the ERP supplier - you will hear an empathetic answer; “yeah I know,.. but the integrations are easy, just buy this one of mine and think about the big picture later”. When you then sit down and combine dot-like solutions in your mind, you can create some kind of stereo-image of digitally optimal organization. But you notice it or not a blind spot remains in the field of vision. This area between the silos, the blind spot, is very tangible. It even has its acronym. It is HRM, i.e. Human Resource Management. Emphasis on the word 'resource'. "Isn't that part of the HR scope", the ERP dude thinks, and vice versa. In reality, most of the best-of-breed HR software only covers the soft side of HR i.e. Human Capital Management (HCM) functionality. Similarly, most Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems cannot really plan or manage humans as organizational resources. Solving the HRM issue with interdepartmental ping pong, and third-party applications leads to cloud spaghetti and produces a kaleidoscopic image of reality. The abilities to lead and manage the future are not developed, and users have several different systems to use. This doesn't sound like digitalization, does it? The solution and alternative to this is to choose a holistic best-of-suite platform where all comes together. In this case, the development of the organization is a journey to common insights - and from insights to new operating methods and employee experiences. Of the platforms I know, the only one that doesn't have a hole in Human Resource Management is the Oracle Fusion Cloud platform. Img.
