WHO IS ROSS DRESS FOR LESS? WHY DO WE HAVE TO LEARN FROM ROSS DRESS FOR LESS? --- * WHO IS ROSS DRESS FOR LESS? Ross Dress for Less, often simply called "Ross," is an American chain of discount department stores. Founded in 1982 in Pacifica, California, it operates under the official name Ross Stores, Inc. The store specializes in offering apparel, accessories, footwear, and home fashion at prices generally lower than other major department stores. The business model of Ross is based on the "off-price" retail concept, which involves selling high-quality merchandise at significantly lower prices than traditional retail. This is achieved through purchasing overstock and out-of-season goods from high-end retail chains and manufacturers, and then offering these products to consumers at a reduced cost. Ross has experienced significant growth and success, becoming one of the largest off-price retail chains in the United States. With over 1,500 stores across the country, it appeals to a broad demographic looking for quality products at affordable prices. * WHY DO WE HAVE TO LEARN FROM ROSS DRESS FOR LESS? 1. Efficient Supply Chain and Inventory Management 2. Strategic Store Placement 3. Cost-Effective Business Model 4. Adaptability 5. Customer Focus 6. Risk Management 7. The most commonly sold sizes for men's clothing are Medium (M), Large (L), and Extra Large (XL), which tend to sell out first. Similarly, in men's shoes, sizes 9 and 9.5 are the first to sell out. For women's clothing, sizes 12, 14, 16, and 18 are the most popular, while sizes 8 and 10 are more likely to end up in sales. Given this pattern, why don't the store's merchandising teams order more of these high-demand sizes to maximize sales?

👟 Will HeyDude drag down Crocs? After their October earnings call, Crocs shares fell by 18% on the news that their casual shoe brand HeyDude saw a 15% YoY decline in sales. While other Crocs product sales are still growing, HeyDude's sales decrease is dragging down the company's share price. Crocs acquired HeyDude for $2.5 Billion in 2021 and the brand was growing rapidly over the last few years. Compared to the Crocs clogs, HeyDude positions itself as more of a casual shoe/loafer, similar to Allbirds. It's more of a "normal" footwear brand going after a young audience and expand Crocs' share of wallet. To combat the HeyDude sales decline, Crocs has announced several new collaborations with people like Sydney Sweeney, Jelly Roll, and Chase Stokes. They have also started selling more on TikTok Shop. This has all happened over the last few months so we'll need more time to see their effects on HeyDude sales. Crocs' smart collab strategy deserves a lot of credit in contributing to the parent brand's success over the last ten years. They'll need thoughtful and hard-hitting collaborations to drive HeyDude's growth because buying those shoes is a different value proposition to buying Crocs. #crocs #heydude #collaborations #marketing #footwear #retail #sneakers #advertising
