In this episode of "Symposia," a YouTube series for The European Conservative, I join philosopher and chairman of the Latin Mass Society, Joseph Shaw, and Charles Coulombe, American Catholic author, historian, and lecturer. And together we discuss various topics, including the merits of monarchy, re-enchantment, the causes and consequences of the abuse crisis in the Church, declining birthrates, G.K. Chesterton, and animal-centric sentimentalism.

When you can’t condemn calls for Genocide in the moment in front of the world and subsequently read off a PR script to say you will take a look at your policies around threatening Jews with Genocide, you are not just a failure as a University President but as a moral & ethical Human Being. My position as the CEO of one of the largest Jewish educational institutions in the world is as follows: The inability of Ivy League leadership to unequivocally condemn the public calls for Genocide and Antisemitism is simply unacceptable and horrific. The callous nature in which the Jewish communities on these campuses have been left vulnerable to attacks is unprecedented in American Jewish history. The entire Jewish people must reevaluate their financial support for these Antisemitic institutions and we must give serious thought to where the future leaders of our people will be educated. We have seen this scenario many times in our history and this time, the Jewish Nation will not be silent. Genocide starts with hateful rhetoric and ends with physical assault. As Elie Wiesel said in his Nobel Peace prize acceptance speech: “Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” The United States of America cannot continue to be the great international leader it is if our Universities cannot recognize that calling for Jews to be liquidated is a question of freedom of speech. There must be major reform across American campuses. Jewish students must be protected and feel safe. Anything short of this is a societal failure of epic proportions. https://lnkd.in/gfc7tSaz
