Thank you Green Alliance for sharing my thoughts on what Ofgem new responsibilities to drive forward Net Zero could look like. To give them lots of credit they have already been very focused on the decarbonisation of the system however there are some additional measures that they should consider including: - Addressing the Fossil Fuel Bias sitting in the deep weeds of the system - Making fossil fuel options across markets more difficult by requiring those that they regulate to justify why they didn't default to low carbon options - Driving deeper efficiencies within the system - doing more with less - Addressing methane leakage more rigorously - Mandating the NESO to own whole system costs that will reduce the overall costs of decarbonisation - Using the next price review to set more stringent targets on networks to decarbonise - Making sure that nature and biodiversity plays a much stronger role in the price controls See more detail in this blog below Many more intelligent people than I will have other ideas on new measures that Ofgem should look at - please do share here and lets start an open debate about what they could do to deliver on their new Net Zero Responsiblities Huge thanks to maxine frerk who is always an inspiration on these matters!

Noble is enhancing #sustainability in Guyana's offshore oilfields through new energy efficiency upgrades on drillships. These upgrades will be made to the Noble Bob Douglas, the Noble Don Taylor, the Noble Sam Croft, and the Noble Tom Madden. CO2 emissions will be slashed by over 5,700 tons/year for each rig, amounting to a 12% reduction. This initiative includes advanced technologies like high-efficiency ventilation and smart start systems, and is part of Noble's broader decarbonization strategy.

The addition of the SulNOx Fuel Conditioner to ships fuel tanks requires no technology changes and capital costs. Fuels burn more completely giving more power and dramatically reduced emissions. These ships need not be become stranded assets.
