Earth Day Inspiration: Celebrate with Camp-Inspired Activities at Home! Happy Earth Day! While summer camp may not be in session today, you can still bring the spirit of camp into your Earth Day celebrations right at home. Let’s dive into some fun, camp-inspired activities that you can enjoy today to connect with nature and make a positive impact on our planet. Start your Earth Day with a family nature scavenger hunt around your neighborhood or backyard. Create a list of natural items to find, like a certain type of leaf, a rock shaped interestingly, or a bird you might spot in your area. It’s a great way to explore and appreciate the small wonders of the world around you. Next, why not have a tree-planting ceremony at home? If you have space in your yard, planting a tree can be a fantastic way to contribute to your local ecosystem. No yard? No problem! Consider planting herbs or small plants in pots that can thrive on a windowsill or balcony. Get crafty with some eco-friendly art projects. Gather recyclable materials and challenge your family to create something beautiful from items that would otherwise be thrown away. It’s not only creative but also teaches the importance of recycling and reusing. As the evening sets in, settle down for a nature walk, even if it’s just around your block. Observe the plants, the sky, the insects—everything that makes up your local environment. End your day with a homemade campfire story session. Share stories about nature, discuss the day’s activities, and maybe plan what eco-friendly steps you can take as a family going forward. #EarthDay2024 #HomeCamp #NatureActivities #EcoCrafts #FamilyFun What are your favorite camp-inspired activities to celebrate Earth Day at home, and how do they help you stay connected to nature and our planet? Even though camp gates may be closed today, these activities can bring the magic of camp to your Earth Day celebration, inspiring both fun and a deeper connection to the environment from your very own home! 🌳💚

Head of Product Development at NEBOSH / Director at Fortis Therapy & Training. The views shared here are my own.
Today marks Great Grimsby Day. Throughout the years, my relationship with Grimsby has been complex. As a youngster, I was eager to leave, feeling constrained by what I perceived as the town's limited ambition. However, despite these feelings, my loyalty to Grimsby has remained unwavering, and I've always been the first to defend its character against any criticism, I suspect many of us feel the same way about the places we grew up in? Through my work at Fortis Therapy & Training Ltd, I've gained a deeper appreciation for Grimsby's dynamic business community. Being a part of this group has allowed me to witness firsthand their dedication to the town's progress. They are a forward-thinking lot, honoring our rich heritage while actively shaping a future centered around renewable energy, food production, and manufacturing. This balance of preserving our past while innovating for the future is particularly evident in the revitalisation of Grimsby's heritage buildings. As I approach my 50th birthday, I reflect on how Grimsby is often still associated with the fishing industry, a sector that had dwindled even before I was born (see the picture Dall-e created for me to illustrate this immediate link in the collective subconscious, although in fairness, food production remains hugely important to the town's economy). This image is enduring, however, the current business landscape shows a clear shift toward future-oriented industries. The name 'Grimsby' might lend itself to humor, given the 'Grim' prefix, but the reality is far from it. The town embodies resilience, growth, and community spirit. I am proud to be a Grimbarian and to celebrate the evolving story of my home town. Great Grimsby Day isn't just a reminder of where we've been; it's a celebration of where we're going and the potential we have. #grimsby #renewables #hometown #grimbarian

👣 Our footprint 👣… 🧳 This time of year many of us switch the office for a couple of weeks of summer vacation. ✈️ Some of us fly to distant lands, some of us seek the peace and quiet closer to home. Did you ever think about your footprint? 🎒 Even walking through a pristine forest like this, we found examples of people’s footprints. Not only through the well trodden path, but also through the waste that was left behind. 💡So what about taking a bag with you, next time you’re out hiking. If you find stuff that doesn’t belong in nature, put it in the bag and take it with you. Simple. 🌎 One earth - one goal. Keep it clean.

🌸 Hey there, it's Derek, your friendly neighborhood State Farm Agent, and I'm excited to chat with you about something my family absolutely loves to do in the spring - visiting farms! 🚜🌾 You see, each local farm is not just a place to get fresh, locally grown food; it's a small business run by friends and neighbors in our community. By supporting them, we not only get delicious produce but also contribute to the local economy. It's a win-win! 🥕🍅 But visiting farms isn't just about supporting local businesses; it's also an amazing way to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature while connecting with your loved ones. There's something magical about exploring the fields and taking in the fresh air. 🌳❤️ As much as I believe in working hard for the things that matter, I also understand the importance of unplugging, unwinding, and spending quality time with family. So, I'm curious - what are you and your family's favorite spring activities? 🌷🌼 Whether it's having a delightful picnic in the park, going on exhilarating hikes, planting a beautiful garden, or trying out any other springtime adventure, I'd love to hear about it! Let's inspire each other to make the most of this wonderful season and create memories that will last a lifetime. 🌞💚 Share your favorite springtime activities in the comments below! #SpringActivities #FamilyTime

Transforming Lives + Building Nest Eggs Via the Power of Intentional Home Design 📈| Lifestyle Revolutionizer🏆| 5⭐ Vacation Rental Owner, Innovator+Strategist⚡️| Designing Spaces w/SOUL💙 | Swim Mom 🏊 Sunrise Chaser🌅
🌍𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸? 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙨.. 🐢 I hear it's extremely rare to witness a baby turtle hatchling making its way to the ocean. Even most of the volunteers who track the nests never see one. 💚This was my surprise one early morning. A little guy had lost his way. You can see from the tracks in the 📷 comments, he was literally going in circles. As the sun lit the honey colored sky This little one struggled for his 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜... It was a moment to remember. Life is precious. Fragile. Incredible. Inspiring. The intention with which Hilton Head Island in South Carolina focuses its efforts on nature preservation is one of the many reasons it's part of my soul. The special crews comb the beaches in darkness. Identifying new nests. Marking them with 3 stakes and orange tape. Protecting their location. Keeping count. An island effort to support this amazing species. Sometimes we all feel like this hatchling. Confused where to go. Trying to reach the waves. When all they do, is push us back. Can you relate? We need those looking out for us to help our journey along. We need to remember, be it Earth Day, this week or all year, how important it is to care for this planet.🌍 ✨✨✨𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖 𝕤𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕞𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝙤𝙛 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚? p.s. I've used my passion for intentional, connective design to create stellar vacation rental properties. One of them is on magical Hilton Head Island. ➜If you've put off your summer planning, and don't know what to do, now is the time to message me for details while we still have some summer left. Save $500-$1000 by booking direct. Yep. Get my island insights for knowing the best of what aligns with you and your crew. I've got you covered. As we reflect on the unity and purpose shown at our recent Spring Harvest event, we find a natural transition into #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth. 🌱 Just as we united to support affordable housing communities, let's now extend that same compassion towards mental health. Thankfully, San Diego provides a plethora of outdoor activities to enhance our mental and physical well-being: 🔹 Dive into the Waves: Surf or swim at our iconic beaches. 🔹 Trail Exploration: Hike the scenic trails of Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve or Mission Trails Regional Park. 🔹 Outdoor Yoga: Attend a session in local parks or beachfront locations. 🔹 Cycling Adventures: Discover the picturesque routes around Mission Bay or Pacific Beach. 🔹 Sunset Serenity: Take in the stunning sunset views during coastal walks. 🔹 Farmers' Market Delights: Select fresh produce and savor local cuisine. Let's pledge to prioritize our mental health as much as we do our physical environment. Step outside, connect with nature and allow San Diego's stunning landscapes to inspire your well-being.
