The women of the First Nations Directorate have had the privilege to attend Waminda South Coast Women's Health and Welfare Aboriginal Coorporation 40th-anniversary conference, celebrating 4 decades of strong Aboriginal women leading the way for community! Waminda has grown from a vision of creating safe spaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s health and wellbeing into an inspiring movement, driven by fierce leadership and the power of Blak women’s voices. Aunty Vicki McKenna alongside Aunty Debra Bowman, delivered a keynote presentation discussing Model of Care frameworks that have focused on spirituality and growth, leading to healing and highlighting the importance of being strong within communities.
