Buying companies sounds very transactional but the art of the deal is the employees, particularly at the $2-5M EBITDA size. Taking the time during diligence, and beyond, to truly understand the people that make the product (your IP), the people that take care of your customers (your revenue), and the people that hold your vendors accountable (your expenses) is the difference of a successful transition and a not successful transition of ownership.
