This #PrideMonth, we celebrate being a part of an open and collaborative community that makes #BlackLine, well—BlackLine. As our Director, Strategy & Corporate Development, Colin LaBran-Boyd, notes: “Diversity, equity, and inclusion are deeply rooted in our core values in service of our people, our customers, and our communities. We prioritize a culture of innovation, collaboration, and respect.” Whether it is participating in dedicated Employee Resource Groups or our teams volunteering in the community outside of the office, BlackLine supports our colleagues and communities that make us diverse. As Ashley Kruger, one new BlackLiner comments—“I truly believe we’re building something special as part of our inclusive culture at BlackLine—where everyone belongs and can bring their whole selves to work every day.” We’re proud to come together to celebrate and recognize the positive impact and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community.

Are you enabling your employees to be strong allies for change? Allies in business are crucial. They can leverage their platform and influence to drive real action for inclusion. Pride Month begins tomorrow, and businesses should focus on enabling their employee base to be active advocates for LGBTQ+ employees, all year round. LGBTQ+ employees in business still do not have equitable opportunities for success, face discrimination and barriers to progress that allies can help eradicate. 4 years ago, the world was gripped by the upsurge of the Black Lives Matter movement, which called on everyone to stand up and actively advocate for the safety of Black communities. Action for change has faltered, and for businesses wanting to renew their responsibilities for driving inclusion for Black employees, empowering allies is key. Take a look at some work we did with a well known fashion brand who wanted to drive allyship in their organization through an accessible and autonomous interactive E-Learning program. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs vary widely. Some companies, unfortunately, focus more on appearances than real change. While displaying a rainbow flag or a Black Lives Matter poster is a nice gesture, true actions towards change require much more. At joyful, we are committed to genuinely including all voices. Our programs are designed to be honest and equitable. For example, Convos (Dutch Bros) features leaders engaging with employees from LGBTQ+, Black, Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Women's groups to listen and implement meaningful changes. Similarly, Salt and Straw’s open conversations with the founder allow those most affected to speak directly with leadership, ensuring a safe, honest, and actionable dialogue. We’d love to work with you and help your company make the world a little more joyful for everyone. Let’s make work more, together. #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #DEI #DiversePerspective #WorkplaceCulture #Culture #joyfulCulture #DoingTheWork #ListenMore

We are incredibly appreciative of LinkedIn for choosing to partner with Impact Media on the 2024 “Out @ Work” Guide. As a media outlet with a majority LGBTQ+ staff that was founded by queer entrepreneurs, we know all too well about the realities of being LGBTQ+ in professional settings. With this LGBTQ+ Work Guide, we hope queer professionals are able to better navigate the invisible roadblocks they may face throughout their careers. We also hope companies begin to better assess how they can create safer workplace environments for their queer employees. In and out of work, the LGBTQ+ community deserve to express their fullest selves without fear of judgment. Together, we can make authenticity the norm. To learn more about the experiences of LGBTQ+ professionals in the workplace, check out LinkedIn x Impact Media’s 2024 “Out @ Work” Guide below.
True allyship in the workplace is more than just celebrating Pride — it’s about creating a space where LGBTQ+ employees can fully express their identity without the need to code-switch or hide parts of themselves. Actively participating in allyship not only supports LGBTQ+ employees, but also enriches workplace culture, fostering a sense of belonging and authenticity for all. 🏳️🌈 Discover more ways to be an ally with LinkedIn x Impact Media's 2024 "Out @ Work Guide": https://lnkd.in/g9Mhkdyc #Pride

Pride month, which takes place every year in June, reminds us that true inclusivity in the workplace protects, supports and nurtures every individual - allowing them a voice and to be heard. Also, that organisations benefit from an inclusive workforce. 🌈 "When everyone is included, everyone wins." Jesse Jackson. We want to highlight a podcast from the 'McKinsey Talks Talent' series, featuring Diana Ellsworth leader of DE&I at the consulting firm. As well as covering research into the real life experiences of LGBTQ+ employees, the discussion covers actions employers can take to foster diversity, from recruitment and on into the everyday. 🌈 Today we remember and reflect on the the #StonewallRiots of June 1969. 🔍 Understanding the Context The Stonewall Inn, located in New York City, was one of the few safe havens where the LGBTQ+ community could gather. But like many such places, it was frequently targeted by police. On June 28, 1969, the community decided they'd had enough. They resisted the police harassment, sparking a series of protests that lasted several days. 🎖️ Notable Figure: Marsha P. Johnson In the midst of this uprising, one name stands out - Marsha P. Johnson. A transgender woman, Johnson was a key figure during the riots. Her bravery and spirit made her a beloved figure and a leading voice in the fight for equality. Johnson dedicated her life to activism, co-founding the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR), an organization that provided support to homeless queer youth. 🌈 The Impact The Stonewall Riots didn't just mark the end of silence - they ignited a flame. They served as a catalyst for the LGBTQ+ rights movement, both in the United States and around the world. 💬 Join the Conversation I'd love to hear your thoughts. How can we, as leaders and colleagues, ensure that we're creating inclusive, accepting environments in our workplaces? What steps are you taking to promote and celebrate diversity? #Pride2024 #StonewallRiots #Inclusion #Diversity #Leadership

Pridemonth is a monumental time of the year. It is a time to remember the remarkable equal rights journey the LGBTQ+ community has fought for decades. And it is a month where I personally take some time to reflect on how far we’ve come as a country. Pride Month also serves as a reminder of the importance of respect and inclusivity in all aspects of our lives. For Corporations world-wide , it’s also a reminder that we need to hit the accelerator on making workplaces welcoming for all, year-round. #StaffWorQs, we firmly believe that businesses play a pivotal role in driving positive societal change and we will be a catalyst to drive such a change as we continue to create diverse and inclusive workplaces and foster innovation. generating tangible benefits for individuals #PrideMonth #PrideCelebration
