🚀 New Space Economy: San Marino's Race 🌌 Expanding Space Activities in San Marino San Marino will establish a new Observatory for the New Space Economy and new technologies on Mount Titano. Promoted by Iserc, this initiative will involve space agencies, research institutions, and aerospace companies. 🤝 Supporting Businesses and Startups Fabio Righi, Secretary of State for Industry, states: "San Marino aims to be a laboratory for advanced technological solutions. Our small but complete ecosystem allows SMEs to be agile and responsive to global challenges." 🔬 Supporting Scientific Research Raffaella Greco, CEO of Tait and organizer of San Marino Aerospace, emphasizes: "The Observatory will support research, information, training, promotion, and scientific observation. It will be open to local companies, startups, public institutions, and research institutes." 📅 San Marino Aerospace 2025 The second edition of San Marino Aerospace will be held on September 24-25, 2025. Fabio Righi adds: "We aim to create a forum for discussing new technologies in the economy, focusing on aerospace and the new space economy. Our goal is to develop new projects and ideas and contribute to the international debate on regulatory, ethical, and moral issues. San Marino positions itself as a key player in the New Space Economy, promoting innovation and global collaboration.

#supercomputer | beautiful, choreographic but far from being in the super computer rankings Ranking by Teraflops Because supercomputers can achieve over one quadrillion flops, and consumer devices are much less powerful, I’ve used teraflops as comparison metric. 1 teraflop = 1,000,000,000,000 (1 trillion) flops. Supercomputer Fugaku was completed in March 2021, and is officially the world’s most powerful supercomputer. It’s used for various applications, including weather simulations and innovative drug discovery. Sunway Taihulight is officially China’s top supercomputer and fourth most powerful in the world. That said, some experts believe that the country is already operating two much more powerful systems, based on data from anonymous sources. As you can see, the most advanced consumer devices do not come close to supercomputing power. For example, it would take the combined power of 4,000 Nvidia Titan RTX graphics cards (the most powerful consumer card available) to measure up to the Fugaku. Upcoming Supercomputers One of China’s unrevealed supercomputers is supposedly named Oceanlite, and is a successor to Sunway Taihulight. It’s believed to have reached 1.3 exaflops, or 1.3 quintillion flops. What is the #NewSpaceEconomy? It's the future. The global ecosystem of collaboration that will safeguard a sustainable, connected world for the next century. It is the constellation of private investors, companies, and start-ups that are investing and contributing to space exploration and harnessing the technological innovations driving this. It is the visionaries and entrepreneurs who can see the real-world, day-to-day applications for these innovations.

I mentioned how unmet sales projections during the SPAC’s craze set commercial space back (way back) in 2023. Investors were running and company valuations were plummeting. This is the kind of great news we need for a rebound in 2024! Major investments by major companies. AST SpaceMobile is a solid space proposition and much like our mission of bringing weather radar coverage to billions that live outside of it, AST aims to bring cellular and internet coverage to the billions of people with poor or no connectivity.
