We are looking for an associate attorney with 10+ years of civil litigation experience. ********************************************************* Candidates should have experience analyzing, researching and drafting briefs, addressing sophisticated legal issues on complex litigation, ranging from motions to dismiss, summary judgment and pre-trial motions. Experience with trials, taking and defending depositions, briefing and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, interfacing with clients and opposing counsel, and attendance of hearings are preferred and communicate with external parties (governmental authorities, external counsel, etc), as necessary. Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 10 years of related civil litigation experience. What an amazing accomplishment for the team at the DISCOVERY Children's Museum (DCM)! They were awarded a $250,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services which will be go toward the Desert to the Stars project. DCM is a wonderful community resource in Southern Nevada providing so many interactive opportunities for children and their families.
We're thrilled to announce that we've been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the third consecutive year! This prestigious Museums for America Program grant will support our innovative "Desert to the Stars" project, an interactive climber exhibit exploring the natural environment of Southern Nevada. Among 347 applications, our project was recognized for its exceptional merit and innovative approach to lifelong learning and community engagement. Here’s what you can look forward to with "Desert to the Stars": 🌟 Promoting curiosity and exploration of the natural environment 🌟 Strengthening gross motor skills and physical activity 🌟 Modulating excess sound in the museum 🌟 Providing a welcoming, accessible environment for all ages and abilities 🌟 Prioritizing the safety of all guests This centerpiece exhibit will combine immersive technology and interactive components. It will take visitors on a journey from the "desert floor" to the "sky and stars," teaching them about environmental science, biology, and astronomy along the way. We're excited to continue providing unique and engaging learning experiences for our community. Stay tuned for updates on the fabrication, installation, and evaluation of this reimagined exhibit over the next two years! Amy Badain is a dedicated leader in the Las Vegas community and co-director of Once Upon a Room at Sunrise Hospital, transforming hospital rooms into welcoming spaces for families in need. As a freelance professional organizer, Amy brings order and harmony to homes. She is strongly committed to youth development and has served as a Girl Scout leader and education advocate. Walter Flores-Aguirre moved from El Salvador 15 years ago and has built a successful career in finance and consulting. He empowers teens with career skills and actively participates in community service and DEI efforts. Jeff Mochal is the SVP of Global Corporate Communication at MGM Resorts International. He leads strategic positioning, crisis communication, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. With a rich background at LPL Financial, McDonald's, ConAgra Foods, and Hardee's, Jeff brings a wealth of experience to his role. He holds a bachelor's in English from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA from Notre Dame.
