Worth 4 minutes of your time - lifting the safety culture from compliance to capacity and curiosity. https://lnkd.in/gtDYvgtW My philosophy is that if we are functioning at a compliance level we are barely scrapping the bottom of the barrel in terms of creating successful workplaces. We need to be operating well above the compliance level and this short video shows one way to approach that from a HSW perspective.

[Your safety my priority] At Avril, health and safety are sacred. It's Avril's number 1 priority as an industrial player. From 2019 to 2023, "We Care", the safety action plan based on Field Safety Visits, Life Saving Procedures, zone audits and the implementation of very regular exchanges within teams on safety, as well as the training of 1,800 managers, has enabled Avril's safety culture to be firmly anchored. To go further towards eliminating serious accidents, we are entering a new cycle, called "We Care 2", based on three fundamentals, support and appropriate tools. The spirit of this new plan is to move towards cooperative prevention, with everyone focusing on their own safety and that of others. https://lnkd.in/ew9E4jUf Find out more about We Care 2. ⤵️

Congratulations to Marie Schaefer! Marie has been selected as CIS Safety Employee of the Month for April! We wanted to thank Marie for always putting safety first and dedication to making Cleveland Integrity #1. Marie's responses to our safety interview - Why is Safety so important to you? Marie: Safety is important to me because most importantly it saves lives and instills workplace confidence in employees. Along with confidence comes higher morale, which can lead to better performance and productivity. Why do you think submitting near-miss reports is important? Marie: I believe that reporting near misses allows us to develop a Safety Culture and allows us to identify actions and behaviors that could be potentially hazardous. This will enable us to address and prevent these issues before an incident or accident occurs.

The Fallacy of Hiding Facts and Celebrating Safe Man-Hours In many industries, the practice of hiding facts and celebrating safe man-hours has become a common approach to demonstrating a commitment to safety. Hiding facts and celebrating safe man-hours may provide a temporary sense of security, but it ultimately undermines genuine safety efforts and puts employees at risk. Organizations must prioritize transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement to foster a workplace where safety is truly valued and protected.
