A recruiter's pitch without understanding your career goals is a red flag. However, if a recruiter shows genuine interest in your profile and wants to have a conversation, be receptive. Building a relationship with a good recruiter can help you stay informed about your job market and potentially lead to exciting career opportunities. In today's rapidly changing world, it's always a benefit to stay informed. #recruiting #jobmarket #careeropportunities

Just a little advice to the recruiter out there. If you are going to message someone stating that you "came across your profile and I am impressed with your experience and think you would be a great fit...." you might actually want to read the individuals profile. Today was a perfect example. The position they were recruiting for was a Civil Estimator. No where in my profile does in mention Civil. If you looked close enough, you would see I have 44+ years in the Electrical Field. LOL

Ok, I have a resume for the mechanical industry that’s rare these days. (I know commercial, residential, new, old, whatever) The bullshit with company honesty and the lack of opportunities in my area lead me to pivot. I ran from the mechanical industry and I opened my own construction company. Now, I have hired and fired AT LEAST 10 people in the last 2 years. My dad, 30 year plumbing company owner has done the same. Here’s my question: What do you have to offer someone like us? If everyone we hire is asking what can you do for me, why can’t I ask the same question? I don’t need a recruiter to bring a half ass worker to a 12k person town. What benefit do you bring my company? Yes. I’m a little salty. In my opinion, recruiters have zero benefit to my company. My requirements are simple: Show up on time Work your ass off Show up the next day Learn Repeat When you don’t show up and you don’t make an effort to learn, you’re not worth $5 an hour. Minimum wage is wasted on you. What can you do for me? I can call a piss poor, bad hire in the first day.

Always be respectful. I always reply no matter what the role is. It takes very little time to just say, "I am not interested." or "That wouldn't be a good fit but thank you for thinking of me." It is just a bit of an annoyance and really shows what kind of a recruiter they are.
