▪️ So What is the difference between them, in terms of symptoms and treatment?
🍀 Heat Stroke 🍀
🔹Body temperature above 104°F (40°C).
🔸 Symptoms: Hot/dry skin , Confusion, seizures or loss of consciousness,
🍀 Heat Exhaustion 🍀
☑️ Body temperature below 104°F (40°C).
☑️ Symptoms: Heavy sweating, pale/clammy skin, fast weak pulse, nausea, fainting.
🚫 The treatments for heat exhaustion and heat stroke are not the same 👌
✅ Treatment for heat exhaustion involves move to a cool environment and Encourage to drink cool water
☑️ Treatment for heat stroke, on the other hand, is more intensive and involves emergency medical attention, rapid cooling of the body, and avoiding oral fluids if the patient is unconscious.
🔹Best to give I.V fluid in the form of normal saline or Ringer lactate
⛔️ What is the most effective way to prevent heat stroke and heat exhaustion ?
✅ The best way to prevent heat stroke is to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity in extreme heat, and take frequent breaks in cool areas.
