As we wrap up this first week, the word that comes to mind for me is JOY. 🌟
The first of our five guiding values at The Greenhouse is "Invite joy to be your co-creator. Celebrate the wins, even the tiniest ones." This theme of joy kept surfacing in the group's conversations -- on what taking a more earth-centered and feminine approach means to them, in their reflections on why they're doing the work they're doing, what motivates them, and what they're moving towards.
Joy was a big topic of conversation this week -- and it was also present as a felt experience. Working with Anu Sanghvi this week and showing up in these first sessions with the new cohort reminded me how energizing joy can be. It reminded me how important it is to invite and cultivate joy to help power and sustain us through the inevitable challenges we encounter in climate work and along the founder journey.
If you're feeling like you've lost touch with your joy in what you do, how might you invite it back? What's something you can do to remind yourself of the joyful parts of your work, the parts that feel rewarding and energizing?
And we’re off! This week marked the kick-off of our Spring-Summer cohort, and The Greenhouse is buzzing with the energy of this inspiring new group.
This cohort brings a diversity of skills and expertise to our shared space, including hardware design, circular economy and supply chains, ocean solutions, regenerative agriculture, climate finance, and so much more.
Words can't express how excited we are for the incredible founder-curious women who stepped up to get curious, dream big, and experiment small to bring their climate-focused ideas to life.
Over the next 13 weeks, we’re looking forward to deeper connections, uplifting collaboration, and impactful innovation with these trailblazing women:

Embracing Hope and Vision: Co-production Week 2024
This week marks an important event in our calendar: Co-production Week. It's a time dedicated to recognising and celebrating the principles and practices of co-production, especially within health and social care. Co-production empowers individuals to have a say in matters that affect their lives, fostering collaborative efforts to improve support systems and services.
As co-production warriors, our passion for this approach stems from personal experience. We've navigated the often inadequate care systems and have witnessed first-hand the transformative impact of effective support. Our commitment to co-production is unwavering because we believe in the power of centring lived experiences in the design, creation, and implementation of public services. Everyone deserves a life filled with purpose, belonging, and meaning.
Co-production is not just about independence; it is about fostering interdependent relationships that enrich our lives. The mantra "nothing about us without us" from the disabled people's movement underpins our efforts. Despite this, there are still spaces and initiatives that exclude the very voices they aim to serve, missing the opportunity to be truly fit for purpose.
Our lived experiences are not just valuable; they are the cornerstone of effective co-production. This knowledge should be the guiding principle in all co-production efforts. Our hope for the future is that co-production becomes a standard practice—integral to all processes, rather than an afterthought.
True co-production is not about ticking boxes or token gestures. It is about collective action—bringing together lived and learned experiences to envision and create a better life for all. It must be equitable, diverse, mutually beneficial, and, above all, honest and reflective. While consensus may not always be possible, striving towards it with openness and respect is crucial.
As we celebrate Co-production Week, we urge everyone to consider the following actions:
Reflect on who is not in the room and work to include those missing voices.
Embrace the process with courage and openness.
Remember, we are here to support you in your co-production journey.
This week, let’s renew our commitment to co-production and work towards making it a standard practice. Together, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to live their best life, despite the challenges they face. Happy Co-production Week !
With thanks from Jacqueline, Paula, Isaac and Lee

A single activist's social media campaign prompted Tractor Supply’s management to end its DEI efforts in just three weeks’ time. This rapid shift exemplifies the changing landscape of diversity initiatives in corporate America.
A previous episode of 'Can You Hear Me?' with AIA President Kimberly Dowdell explored DEI's future. Now, new developments discussed in a recent Wall Street Journal article are amplifying the conversation: https://lnkd.in/gpEASHwe
