As lead inventor at TD Ameritrade / Schwab of a consortium securities token market trading system accounting for all market participants (issuers, brokers, transfer agents, regulators, investors, existing non-token securities paradigms, etc.). I believe we need to methodically plan for the advent of compliant securities tokens strategically as well as tactically, avoiding balkanization and externalities to the largest extent possible. We need to update and harmonize securities token registration processes consistent with the goals of investor protection and efficient modern markets. This is especially important given the recent delisting by brokers of tokens that the SEC considers securities. The SEC should consider gathering industry views as soon as possible.

The NYSE trading floor has changed a lot since its peak in the 1980s, mainly due to advances in technology. While computers now handle most trades, there are still real people on the floor doing important work for investors around the world. What was it like to work on the floor in the '80s?
