The Hyperledger Besu Financial Services Workgroup launched to identify and prioritize technical enhancements and new features for Besu to align and meet the requirements and standards of the industry for business solutions in financial markets In addition to The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the workgroup has the support of key stakeholders from the financial industry like Banco Central do Brasil, Citi, Japan Securities Clearing Corporation, Mastercard, Santander and Visa, and core contributors of Besu like Consensys, Kaleido, and Web3 Labs . Coinbase is pleased to announce that EigenDA will be the first AVS on EigenLayer that our Operator will support. EigenDA is a data availability (DA) solution built by the EigenLabs team. It's the first AVS to launch on EigenLayer, the restaking protocol enabling projects to leverage Ethereum’s security to create decentralized networks. DA refers to guaranteeing that all transaction data is available for network nodes to verify blocks. But there’s a problem. As the number of transactions increases, requiring all nodes to download all transaction data prevents scaling. This is known as the DA problem. Enter rollups (i.e., L2s), which help Ethereum scale by moving transactions off-chain, bundling them, and posting the compressed data to mainnet (via call data) so nodes can verify their veracity. Blockchains are all about collaboration, partnership and innovation, and I couldn’t be more excited to share that we have joined the Hyperledger Foundation led by Daniela Barbosa and her amazing team. We are committed to innovation with the various protocols under the Hyperledger umbrella, and help build the enterprise standards for digital assets, #blockchain and DLT. Through this work we can achieve consistency between fragmented networks, envision a sustainable future for blockchains and carve out a scalable path forward for institutions in the digital assets and tokenization space. Separately, we are one of the founding members of the Hyperledger Besu Financial Services Working Group (WG), together working on this with Carlos Vivas Augier from The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Rashi Goyal from Mastercard, Catherine Gu from Visa, Sophia Lopez from Kaleido and other key industry leaders. We will be focusing on driving the enterprise requirements for Besu for smart contracts, tokens and assets, interoperability, scalability, data privacy and security, among other features. There is an increased adoption in the EVM compatible stacks, and this should be prioritized, explored and pushed forward.
