Let's reflect on our interactions with our kids. Are they filled with constant nagging or arguments? How much time do we spend simply enjoying their company? By connecting more with our kids, they become more receptive when we need to guide them. We also gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, which can reduce our frustration. Find an activity your child loves and spend just 10 minutes a day doing it together. Focus on play, without correcting or critiquing. #ParentChildBonding #ConnectionOverCorrection

Self-confidence/Positive Thinking is taught by giving young children the language of "happy thoughts". It begins with asking them to share a "happy thought" in circle time. Give them a topic, such as, "What is your favorite color? Topics need to be relative to their age. Some easy topics are favorite foods, games, activities, toys, books, stories. These are always shared in full sentences. We will use these later to help manage their emotions and feelings. Years ago many of us had a crush on Apple products - so many innovative waves of amazing technology that changed our immediate world. At some point though the "direction of crush" flipped over: Apple crushed developers, competitors and customer choice, becoming part of the reason the EU came up with twin DSA / DMA regulations. Apple's add crushing IRL experiences into i-devices raised an uproar. It wasn't the ad's intention, but it epitomised on-going attempts to intermediate (and overlay) our direct experience of life. You can see why Heat Initiative and Jonathan Haidt believe that Apple is crushing childhood 👇 . But Apple also has the power to protect children from digital harms, as explained in the 2 posts below. If you want to join their call to Apple, please scroll down and act. Stop the crush; start repairing; mend to move forwards and beyond.
Don't Crush Childhood, Apple. Today, we launched our response to Apple’s now infamous ad for the latest iPad, which drew criticism for just how much it missed the mark. Turns out, people don’t love when you #Crush humankind’s most beautiful creative tools. Crushing childhood won’t go over well either. In today’s world, tech companies play a huge role in safeguarding kids. They can do something about the harms children face in an increasingly digital world. They’re oftentimes the first line of defense, which is why inaction is simply not an option. Apple has the opportunity to make their products safer for children. Now, we need Apple to see how many people want them to do just that, and our partners and supporters play a critical role in helping us get their attention. Share now: Don’t Crush Childhood.
