The hiring freeze impacts more than law students, anyone offered a position and onboarded after 7 February, had their offer rescinded. The hiring freeze us for op days for most agency. For Treasurt, a duration has not been identified.

Any government hiring freeze will have an impact on society and the country as a whole because many communities will be impacted by a lack of services and programs. Especially the poorest communities in need.

The government is now missing out on hiring a lot of very talented and smart lawyers. I interviewed some of them. But, there are now some more great candidates out there for the private sector.
