A significant shift/pivot is happening at many tech companies. "Older" tech is being de-emphasized, and AI-based products/development is getting an immense amount of focus/investment. Unfortunately, many that support older tech/products can't easily transition to the newer tech. Sadly, this will result in headcount reductions in some departments with additions in the departments focused on newer tech.

Soon this will become the norm at Apple, too. Nobody will be immune for mass layoffs once all competing tech giants have AI run more of their internal processes.
