The landscape for producing renewable fuels is shifting. A number of firms have either abandoned, paused or reversed renewable projects, the vast majority using hydroprocessing — the dominant technology for producing renewable diesel and SAF. From Sept 2023 to July 2024, almost 1 billion gallons per year of nameplate capacity have been switched to ‘Paused/Abandoned’ status, according to BNEF’s Global Renewable Fuel Project Tracker. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dEmbgunK #RenewableFuels #Hydroprocessing

With companies around the world striving to reduce their carbon emissions and become net zero, there are often questions about what will be the leading renewable energy source in the years to come. Green Ammonia has several renowned benefits that make it an extremely viable source of renewable energy, the carbon-free fuel can be produced sustainably and faces far less challenges with storage and transportation compared to Hydrogen. It is clear that Green Ammonia will have a vital role to play as an accelerator for the renewable energy transition. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/emBRcACb #GreenAmmonia #IHIEurope #RenewableEnergy

Long duration energy storage (LDES) technologies paired with renewables could reduce global industrial greenhouse gas emissions by 65%, according to a new report from the LDES Council. LDES technologies are already being piloted by major industrial firms to enable decarbonisation of their operations, as they provide the equivalent of baseload renewable power that can address hard-to-electrify industrial processes. Governments should prioritise policies that incentivise industrial users to deploy LDES technologies, such as subsidies, carbon pricing, and pilot projects. 🌍Considering decarbonization strategies for the upcoming financial year? Look no further. Harnessing the power of Renewable Diesel (HVO) can be a game-changer for businesses aiming to reduce their carbon footprint. 🌿#SustainableSolutions #Decarbonize #HVO #GreenBusiness #FutureForward
📊 #POLL: is your company using renewable fuels? Poll: • Not yet – but we have plans to! • We’re currently transitioning to renewable fuels • We’re only using renewable fuels We recently undertook a successful trial using Certas Energy #HVO in our own fleet. The transition had impressive results, helping us exceed our 2025 carbon reduction target three years early and serving as inspiration for transport businesses looking to lower their own carbon footprint. Did you know? Difference between Renewable & Non Renewable Energy Sources. Renewable energy is generated from natural, sustainable resources such as the sun, wind, and water. Non-renewable energy is generated from finite resources such as coal, oil, and natural gas. The key difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources is how they are generated. #renewable #nonrenewable #Trend #engr #PV

📢 The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) has published its Core Carbon Principles (CCP) eligibility decisions on methodologies related to methane leak detection and repair, renewable energy, and sulfur hexafluoride replacement. ☑️ The ICVCM approved the CDM methane leak detection and repair methodology that is also active in the VCS Program as meeting the CCPs for projects’ first crediting periods. ☑️ The ICVCM did not approve any renewable energy methodologies from any greenhouse gas (GHG) crediting program as eligible for CCP labels. The renewable energy methodologies that are active in the VCS Program and that were not approved by the ICVCM are Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) methodologies Verra accepted for use in the VCS Program. Specifically, the ICVCM has noted deficiencies in the CDM additionally and grid factor tools. Verra still holds that the targeted application of carbon finance in least developed countries (LDCs) is crucial to overcoming barriers that renewable projects face in some jurisdictions. Verra is therefore currently revising the CDM additionality tools to address the deficiencies noted by the ICVCM. Verra’s new electricity tool will address the deficiencies noted in the CDM electricity tools. ☑️ The ICVCM did not approve CDM methodology for sulfur hexafluoride replacement. 💡Read our full announcement: https://bit.ly/46CCUWZ #CarbonMarkets #StandardsMatter #ClimateChange #ClimateAction

The current EPBD proposal’s definition of a “zero-emission building” is focusing only on on-site renewable energy generation and renewable energy from the grid. This excludes a viable range of innovative renewable energy solutions that citizens could benefit from. Renewable liquid gases (such as rLPG, bioLPG and rDME) are viable, future-proof energy sources for buildings that will be excluded unless the proposed legislation is changed.
