Nonprofits exist to drive positive change, not profit margins. But should they borrow the full marketing playbook from for-profit companies to maximize donations and engagement? Many for-profits use aggressive email marketing, retargeted ads, and even nudge tactics to keep consumers engaged and buying. Is it ethical for nonprofits to employ similar strategies to drive more donations and volunteers? After all, more funds raised could mean more lives improved or environments protected. But do the ends justify the aggressive means if it makes some donors feel badgered or turns others off entirely? Nonprofit marketers and leaders — where do you stand on this issue? Are aggressive for-profit marketing tactics fair game for the nonprofit world, or should we hold ourselves to a higher standard of stakeholder respect? Let me know your thoughts. #nonprofitmarketing #fundraisingethics #ethicalmarketing

Step 6: Build a strong online presence. Utilize social media, websites, and email marketing to connect with supporters and amplify your impact. #DigitalMarketing I often get asked how to start a nonprofit. For the next 30 days, I’ll share a post each day on how much work it is to start your own non profit! This series is what we call #30daysNonprofit. Utah has about 13,000 nonprofits so I’m sure you’d be able to find one that aligns with you. 👌

"Not all heroes wear capes" We've all heard this line before especially those working in the nonprofit space. But how do you showcase your hero's? How do you highlight their stories and bring them to life for all your audience to know? Simple... Email marketing. One of our most successful email campaigns across the board has been "Meet The Heroes" Why? Because everyone who is part of an organization has something to share, whether its the ED or the janitor. They all have a story, a purpose and means for being part of the organization. What we have found is that of all our sequences, collectively, these perform the best. 💥Higher open rates! 💥Higher click rates! 💥More donations! Yes, all because we have given these people a new vehicle for connection. The best part about this, you can repurpose the content for social media posts, videos, shorts and more! Have you tried this with your organization? Want to see it in action? Let's talk! #nonprofitmarketing #emailmarketing #donations https://lnkd.in/drZwNcd2

Social media & thought leadership for social impact | Founder & CEO @ Cause Fokus | Maryland 40 Under 40 | Empathy-based marketing
The Do’s and Don’ts of year-end fundraising. 👇 I’m keeping it simple here, but these are what I’m applying in all of my campaigns and recommending to all of my clients as a baseline: ✅ Do create emotionally resonant stories that showcase your nonprofit's impact. ✅ Do plan your social media content in advance and create a posting schedule for consistency. ✅ Do prioritize quality over quantity when it comes to social media platforms. ❌ Don't inundate your audience with constant donation requests. ❌ Don't treat social media as a one-way communication channel. ❌ Don't post blindly without analyzing your social media performance. Social media is a powerful tool for nonprofits during year-end fundraising campaigns, but you will burn out if you try to do it all without a strategic approach. By following these do's and dodging the don'ts, you can maximize your nonprofit's impact on social media while building a loyal community of advocates who will advance your cause. Remember to stay authentic, share compelling stories, and engage with your supporters to create a meaningful and successful year-end fundraising campaign. #NGO #Nonprofit #Marketing #Fundraising

Peer-to-peer fundraising is an excellent way to maximize your small dollar donors and drive your campaign to victory! On top of bringing in more donations, this strategy also builds a stronger, more engaged community around your campaign. Here’s how to get your supporters excited about fundraising on your behalf: 🔧 Provide Tools: Give your supporters everything they need to succeed! Offer templates, social media graphics, and sample messages to make their fundraising efforts easy. 🙌 Recognize Efforts: Publicly acknowledge and thank those who fundraise for you. A shout-out on social media, a personalized message, or a special mention at an event can go a long way. 🏆 Set Goals: Encourage friendly competition with fundraising goals and leaderboards. Set clear targets and celebrate milestones.
