NEW EPISODE: Relearning Painful Tariff Lessons Tariffs were widely used when our country was young and British goods dominated markets. Tariffs have a lot of unintended consequences, especially when those whose exports are affected retaliate. Tariffs also create price increases for consumers and allow inefficient businesses to stay in business. Will we learn our lesson in the end? Learn More Here: https://shorturl.at/ooBcX

Dangers in excess Tariff: Tariffs are economic weapons, not political tools. Any excessive tariffs are self harming. No nation have all resources, countries are inter-dependent. If you tariff products you do not have comparative advantages to produce, your people will pay more. The seller will just add your tariffs to product costs. Tariffs are used to protect local manufacturers or discourage some consumptions. I hope Economists and Politicians will find equilibrium to save the world.

If Trump and his Billionaire friends would pay their fair share of Taxes - then we would not need to work on the US Budget, or raise taxes by Tariff. Here is an example I keep getting told and my answer: 1) "Elon Musk" paid 10 Billion in Taxes last year, how much did you pay?" 2) I paid a much larger percentage of my income and that of my company than did Elon Musk. Lets look at the numbers: Elon is worth about $300 Billion Dollars - Taxes of $10 Billion on that amount = 3.3% Tax Rate. I pay a MUCH higher rate as both a person and through my companies than Elon Musk. I think Elon and the other Billionaires should pay their share of Taxes and that they have PLENTY of tax breaks, exemptions, and credits which keep their tax rate low. What is your tax rate? What is Elon Musk's tax rate? Is it fair that most of America pays a higher tax rate and percentage of their income than Billionaires like Elon Musk? Sincerely, Todd W. Sweeping tariffs could start a trade war if countries retaliated with tariffs of their own. Studies have shown that the cost of tariffs are often passed on to American consumers, leading to higher inflation.

While the US aims to protect its domestic industries, imposing high tariffs may not significantly impact the US dollar while potentially harming the Indian economy. And US would have probably applied similar protectionist measures if they would have been in India’s shoes
#DonaldTrump warned that if #India continues to impose high tariffs on US goods, his administration would respond with reciprocal tariffs. Watch 🔗 (LINK IN COMMENTS)

A critical distinction between the 2019 Trump tariffs and those proposed now is that the 2019 tariffs were on business input goods while the currently intended tariffs will hit consumer goods. Will Trump pull back from a direct increase in the price of consumer goods?
