A Trump victory in 2024 could significantly influence the futures of many Muslim-majority countries. Trump's foreign policy has historically been rooted in an "America First" philosophy, which means a focus on U.S. interests, often sidelining longstanding alliances and complex international relationships. For Middle Eastern and Muslim-majority countries, this could mean less predictable U.S. involvement, potentially less emphasis on democratic reforms, and a more transactional approach to foreign policy. In regions like the Middle East, Trump might intensify the "maximum pressure" strategy against Iran, possibly escalating tensions with Iran's allies. This approach could result in increased instability, particularly if other Gulf nations, like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, are pressured to choose sides. Trump has historically favored closer ties with Israel and sought normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab countries. A second Trump administration could push for more such deals, which could affect regional dynamics and potentially strain U.S. relations with countries more critical of these policies. Trump's stance on immigration, previously marked by restrictions targeting several Muslim-majority countries, could also resurface. While these policies mainly affect diaspora communities, they also contribute to global perceptions of U.S.-Muslim relations, influencing diplomatic ties and affecting the economies of migrant-reliant countries. Overall, the impact of Trump's presidency on Muslim countries would likely be complex, with potential benefits for allies willing to align closely with U.S. interests, but challenges for countries in opposing camps or those relying on more multilateral approaches to diplomacy.

The North America's Building Trades Unions have officially endorsed Joe Biden in this year's US Presidential Election. NABTU President Sean McGarvey commended his administration's pro-labour policies and infrastructure investments which are creating jobs for Building Trades members. McGarvey also slammed Donald Trump for his endless broken promises made to skilled trades unions across the US. The BTA knows that working Albertans benefit from stability in the US. This helps our province maintain strong economic partnerships across the border which generates growth in our industry. Donald Trump has shown he has no interest in building stable economic relationships or creating good-paying union jobs. Instead, he is trying to throw the democracy of our country's closest ally into disarray for his own benefit. We as unions are democracies. Our members elect the leadership of their union through a fair and democratic process. This ensures that our leaders remain accountable to the workers they represent. As such, we recognize the dangers of politicians who deliberately undermine democracy. The BTA is proud to stand with NABTU and all of our fellow Building Trades unions across North America as we work to grow the unionized skilled trades. We support NABTU in this endorsement. #buildingtradesofalberta #skilledtrades #UnionStrong #uselections2024

Donald Trump is the new US President Victorious Donald Trump, now President-elect, is to become the 47th President of the United States of America. Mr Trump survived two assassination attempts during a very polarised campaign with societal implications extending globally. Abraham Lincoln's quote during his Lyceum address is fitting: "At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad." #US #Trump --- 📧 info@strategyinternational.org ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eP2aK2fX 🗺️ 24 Minoos Street, Strovolos, CY-2042, Nicosia #strategyinternational #thinktank #policy #highlight
