The youth mental health crisis isn’t a challenge that any organization can tackle alone – it's one that can only be solved when we choose to work together. That’s why we’re proud to partner with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help kids get the support they need to live happy, healthy lives. Mental health is the #1 reason California kids are hospitalized. We need to talk about this serious issue affecting our kids as often as possible. Children Now's Senior Director of Behavioral Health, Lishaun Francis, did just that last month, speaking with teens about their mental health and listening to what they need to overcome the unique challenges they face today, as part of a town hall in collaboration with PBS NewsHour. We'd love you to take a bit out of your day to listen: https://bit.ly/4byWJRf And if you feel like joining the fight for better mental health support for kids across California, learn much more about the issue in the 2024 California Children's Report Card: https://bit.ly/3H7UI0l

As we step into May, designated as Mental Health Month, it's crucial to underscore the significance of suicide prevention education. Suicide remains a pressing public health concern, and prevention efforts are pivotal. By investing in suicide prevention courses, we equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills to identify warning signs, provide support, and intervene effectively. Educating ourselves and our communities about suicide prevention isn't just about awareness—it's about action and saving lives. Let's make a commitment this Mental Health Month to prioritize mental health education and support systems. Together, we can make a difference. 💙 #MentalHealthMonth #SuicidePrevention #EndTheStigma Sofia Wadman Wurkplace Wellbeing Claire Burns

World Suicide Prevention Day is on 10 September each year. For this year, and until 2026, the theme is ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’ with the call to action of ‘Start the Conversation’. This theme aims to raise awareness about the importance of reducing stigma and encouraging open conversations to prevent suicides - moving from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness, understanding, and support. At Virtual Services Group, we invest in the wellbeing and mental health of our people because we see this as a vital part of our role and duty of care to everyone who works within our business. Together, we can all start the conversation and change the narrative. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

It's Children's Mental Health Awareness Week! Much of my career and research has focused on youth mental health and suicide prevention. Through this work I’ve analyzed data, spoken with dozens of youth, and collaborated with many partners to foster mental health among youth. This week, I'll be sharing some of what I’ve learned from that work, as well as some articles and resources. First, one of the best resources out there is the Blueprint for Youth Suicide Prevention, co-developed by AAP and AFSP in collaboration with experts from NIMH (aap.org/suicideprevention). Check out this article I co-authored last year about how the Blueprint came together! https://lnkd.in/gkW9_hBQ

Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, we are reminded of the crucial importance of mental health and the need to support one another. This day calls for raising awareness, showing compassion, and recognising that seeking help is a sign of strength. In alignment with Bark's commitment to this cause, we are partnering with Work Well Being to host a suicide prevention workshop next week for our employees. Every conversation, no matter how big or small, contributes to building a supportive and understanding society. We encourage other companies to follow our lead and help break down the barriers that often prevent these essential discussions from occurring. #worldsuicidepreventionday

2moPart of the delay in care is authorizing 10 visits and making consumers second guess if they really need their check in visit or not. Mental health visits should no longer require an authorization, the insurance companies are part of the barrier to accessing care.
