I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in an exceptional webinar organized by Geoaccess Indonesia, in collaboration with the Badan Informasi Geospasial RI (BIG RI) and the Perkumpulan OpenStreetMap Indonesia (POI). This event provided a deep understanding of the critical role of geospatial data in supporting national development and policies based on the OneMap Policy. In a session led by Ms. Dr.Ir.RA Belinda Arunarwati Margono, M.Sc, Principal Secretary of BIG, I learned that achieving Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045 requires a comprehensive transformation of geospatial data systems. Emphasis was placed on the "THIS" principles (Thematic, Holistic, Integrative, Spatial) to produce high-quality geospatial data as a foundation for policymaking. In another session, Ms. Dewi Sulistioningrum, S.Si from OpenStreetMap Indonesia highlighted the remarkable role of crowdsourcing geospatial data through the OpenStreetMap platform. The participatory mapping concept, involving local communities, opens significant opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, especially in managing geospatial data that is open, free, and inclusive. This webinar underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in geospatial data management to address various needs, including disaster mitigation, spatial planning, and sustainable development. I feel inspired to continue contributing and supporting the advancement of geospatial data as a key element in Indonesia's digital transformation. Kurloo Technology is working with CSIRO and SmartSat CRC to conduct an exciting pilot project at the Googong reservoir to support satellite Earth observation product validation. Matt Garthwaite recently presented at the Locate24 conference, sharing findings from the project. The water level data captured by Kurloo are accurate, with measurements taken daily that correlate with the in-situ data, demonstrating millimetre-level accuracy and precision by Kurloo. Matt discussed the vital role of Earth observation calibration and validation activities, highlighting their importance for Australia engaging with international partners. These efforts are not only crucial for advancing our objectives in the geospatial industry, particularly in environmental risk mitigation, but they also position Australia as a key contributor to the global Earth observation value chain. 🌊🌟 Exciting Update! 🌟🌊   Marine Research is proud to announce our significant contributions to the EMODnet platform through multiple high-resolution seabed mapping projects (our organization details: https://lnkd.in/dc3jqdx3). 🌐📊 EMODnet (European Marine Observation and Data Network) is a pivotal initiative by the #EuropeanCommission aimed at centralizing and standardizing marine data for improved accessibility and utility. 🛰️🔬   📅 Our work has contributed to 5 essential projects since 2015.
