This morning’s session left me with much to ponder, especially VP Věra Jourová compelling statement that “AI cannot have human rights.” This perspective is a vital reminder of the distinct line between human ingenuity and the tools we create, underscoring the responsibility we carry in guiding AI’s development responsibly and ethically. Equally striking were Sara Wachter’s insights on the hidden biases within AI systems. Her critique of the oversimplified narrative that “the US innovates and the EU regulates” challenges us to look deeper into the implications of our work in technology. Sara eloquently argued that regulation isn’t about stifling innovation indiscriminately but about ensuring that what progresses does so within the bounds of legality and ethical standards. Her words resonate deeply with the idea that in our pursuit of advancement, we must be vigilant in recognizing and addressing the biases and potential harms embedded within our creations. It’s not about hindering innovation, but about refining it to respect and protect the very essence of human rights and dignity. Now onto the second part of the conference dealing with Open Strategic Autonomy and the Internal Market.

Fresh off stage 🎤 from the Private Equity International Conference where I discussed the Gen AI Boom in Private Equity. The problem? 🤔  What are the practical use cases driving value creation from due diligence to the first 500 days? We shared strategies and the playbook for driving value.  This experience along with my recent Board of Directors position at Add Value Machine has me ‘all in’ on AI.
