💬 Take your job seriously, but don’t take yourself so seriously 😜 We just wrapped up two valuable days at Nordic Business Forum with the Siemens Healthineers Finnish team, where the focus was on courageous and vulnerable leadership. Thank you to the presenters and Nordic Business Forum for the experience and lessons learned. One key takeaway for me was this: Admitting shortcomings is, in itself, a sign of confidence and security in one’s strengths. It can feel scary, but when you open up, and show vulnerability in front of your team, you’re giving them permission to do the same. To feel safe enough to admit what they’re unsure of, but also come together to avoid wasting more time and energy, and instead focus on finding solutions to improve knowledge, skills, and in the end - performance. As a leader, it’s then on you to spot those who show the most progress and willingness to learn. Because more often than not, they are the people who end up making the biggest contributions to your organization.

Helping leaders and organisations lead change to deliver results. Change and Culture Speaker | Leadership & Motivational Speaker.
In the fast-paced world of business consulting, the real magic lies in crafting solutions that deliver not just immediate results, but also long-term results. How can this be done? This happens when you move away from transactional training programs and into programs that are spread over a longer period. This involves digging deep into the core issues and aligning with the organization's long-term objectives, listening to the leader's best hopes for their future, delivering interventions that change the way they do things and measuring for results. Join me at the upcoming Asia Professional Speakers Singapore convention 10-11 May. #SustainableSolutions #LongTermSuccess #BusinessConsulting #StrategicGrowth #ResultsDriven

"The more interest you take in other people, the more you learn about yourself". Yesterday afternoon and evening were spent at Djøf’s yearly Festival in Copenhagen. This year’s festival focused on questions like ‘which society do we want in the future’ and ‘how do we get there’. Many different and really interesting speakers and debates spiced up with good food & drinks, surprisingly meet up with old colleagues from previous jobs – all in the good company of my treasured inspirational Novo colleague Victoria Vorting, who actually was the one who invited me to this yearly event (again! 😉). The ultimate best speaker was Professor Jan Molin who spoke about leadership. A topic that resonates a lot with me. He had so many interesting angles and insights on this topic (some of them almost banal – but deep insights often are) and especially his focus on the distinction between ‘subject-expertise versus leadership-expertise’, was spot on! Many confuse the 2. As he pointed out: ‘Subject-expertise creates respect, leadership-expertise creates effect’. If you as a leader encounters problems and you have nothing else to fall back on than your subject-expertise then you can be challenged, as it often is not your subject-expertise that will solve the problem. Other ‘simple’ but spot on one-liners from his talk were: - Good leadership is about being present – as a leader you have to be there and relate to others. - Insecurity in managers is due to the fact that most managers are not actually trained to lead – they have become leaders as an unintended side effect of their careers. - The more interest you take in other people, the more you learn about yourself. Thanks again Victoria Vorting for inviting me to this event! #djoef #lovemyjob #leadership

Before I disagree with you, here is what I think your perspective is... Empathy being a power in every aspect of our lives is one of my main take-aways from the Nordic Business Forum I had the privilige to attend last week. Chris Woss is a great speaker representing the theme of Courageous Leadership. And he took my heart away with inviting his listeners to be the difference - a former FBI Hostage Negotiatior talks about the importance of human connection. Here are some more ideas on how to establish a successful and meaningful connection: - choose a question encouraging a 'no' answer (makes people feel safe and more protected): Is this a bad time to talk? vs Do you have a few minutes to talk?; - follow with a question that allows to access people's values: What do you love about...? (makes people feel good); - remember that the goal is not to make them say 'yes', instead make them say 'That's right!' (makes people feel understood as opposed to making them understand); - being coachable throughout our life is key to succeeding; - preparation is key! These are some ideas I put in my pocket of valuables. Be the difference! Nordic Business Forum

Develop "Possibility" Thinking! Attended an incredible EGN Singapore (Executives' Global Network) event today led by Kenneth Kwan, Author and Global Leadership Speaker on "How to Build a Culture of Possibilities, Optimistic Change and Results". My Key Learnings: 1️⃣ Listen to the Wish Behind the Complaint: Every complaint has a hidden opportunity. Listen more, and you'll find it. 2️⃣ Think Big: Imagine what’s possible beyond your today's limits. 3️⃣ Envision a Better Future: What Does the Best Future Look Like? Dream about it. Describe a Bright Future to Inspire Action: Talk about the future in a way that gets yourself and everyone excited to act. 4️⃣ Life Without Problems: How can things run perfectly? Think deeply, and you will find the perfect way. Kenneth's talk was a powerful reminder that changing our mindset to focus on possibilities can transform our work and life. Let’s bring this positive energy into everything we do! Here’s a photo with Kenneth, whose ideas have really energized me! Thank you, Kenneth, for the powerful session. #EGN #EGNSingapore #CultureOfPossibility #OptimisticChange
