Yesterday I celebrated 8 years of working for Panel Graphic Limited I started working for PG back in 2015, I was only 17 and I never used to talk 😂 As a young woman fresh out of school, I never imagined that my first job would turn into a long-term career. But eight years later, here we are! Upgraded from little admin Chloé to Sales & Marketing Manager ✨ Working for a company for an extended period of time is a powerful thing - It allows you to build relationships, gain experience, and develop the skills needed for everyday life – Professionally & Personally. Looking back on my experience, I've learned some valuable lessons. 🚀 1️⃣ Embrace the Journey: Throughout my eight years with Panel Graphic, I've held several roles, worked on diverse projects, and collaborated with a wide range of individuals. Embracing these opportunities enabled me to build the skills and grow out of the shyness I developed over my early teen years. 2️⃣ Build Strong Relationships: The relationships we build in the workplace are essential, not just for career advancement but for our mental and emotional well-being. At Panel Graphic, I've been fortunate to work with a group of people who are not only colleagues, but they’re family. They've taught me how to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and support each other through the ups and downs of our day-to-day work. 🤝 3️⃣ Believe in Yourself: As a young woman, entering the workplace (Especially in manufacturing) can daunting. Confidence is key in any role, and it sometimes takes time to build. My eight years has taught that hard work, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude can help me achieve anything I set my mind to. 💪 Overall, my experience has taught me the importance of long-term employment, building relationships, and believing in myself. It's been a wild ride, but one that I wouldn't trade for anything. 🌟 P.S I do actually speak now 😂 #LongTermEmployment #CareerJourney #BelieveInYourself

Congratulations to Cristian Pena, Production Coordinator, on her 10-year work anniversary! Learn more about her time with us below. ▪ What has motivated you to stay at the company for so many years? Some of the things that have motivated me to stay with the company are the work atmosphere, growth prospects, and effective management. We have a collaborative setting that fuels creativity and promotes teamwork, enabling me to excel in my role. With such a supportive framework in place, I feel motivated to contribute my best and continue growing within the organization. ▪ What roles and responsibilities have you held over the last 10 years? I began my journey at the company as a photo editor intern, where I learned the importance of the workflow of the editing team. After my internship, I became a full-time photo editor ensuring high-quality visuals for various projects. Within a couple of years, I transitioned to the role of Photo Editor Administrator, and it allowed me to enhance my communication skills and organizational abilities. Currently, I am a Production Coordinator, making sure everything flows smoothly between different teams in our company. ▪ What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen within WebstaurantStore? One of the first things I learned at Web was to embrace change. From enhancing employee spaces, such as the break room and expanding work areas like the photo studio, to embracing new trends, like adding 3D models to the website and implementing AI technology, Webstaurant is always adapting to improve both customer and employee experiences. Additionally, I’ve seen the continuous creation of new job roles to meet specific needs. I think that highlights the company's commitment to growth and innovation.

This journey was a rollercoaster of late nights, creative blocks, and invaluable lessons. A huge shoutout to my amazing mentors and colleagues who believed in me. Technical Lead (Data) @ JD North America | Data Engineering and Innovation | Advocate | 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔
My first job ever was at an Italian restaurant when I was 12, working as a dishwasher on weekends. By 15, I had transitioned to working as a graphic designer while also teaching myself to code in my free time. I graduated early from high school, attending only half days for half of my senior year and did a work study program. Shortly after, I switched to a career in tech. Since then, I’ve established a results-driven career across several roles with a rich and diverse network. Traditional career progression models often fail to account for the diverse paths people take and are frequently biased. These biases must be rooted out to create equitable opportunities for all. Career development programs need to evolve to meet the demands of the modern workforce. They often lack the necessary flexibility and personalization to truly support individual & collective growth. The future lies in adaptive, individualized development plans that acknowledge unique career goals, learning styles, and the value each person brings. #CareerProgression #InnovationInWork #CareerDevelopment #FutureOfWork #TechCareers #Equity

WHY We Play #TheGAME…. Had a great conversation with a Senior Associate Principal at one of the largest architectural firms in the world…. “The normal HR process is such a gauntlet, especially at larger firms. We have two or three summer internship positions, and we'll probably get 400-600 applications when the requisition opens up…..With that many people, each one gets at most 30 seconds of review. Having good graphics is the first step, but making sure that someone can understand the THINKING behind your work in 5 seconds a page is critical”……. 30 Second Review up against 500 Applicants for 3 Positions!….You have less than a 1% chance of being selected for the position. When I explain #TheGAME to young architectural students the response is so often.…”I understand what you’re saying but I want to do it the Right Way!”….. Who convinced these people that the right way is to email your portfolio into an HR Portal (Hell’s Gate) and “HOPE” you overcome the odds? In this scenario 497 applicants receive a generic email response and immediately think….”I need to revise my portfolio”…. In the Car Design Industry I’ve talked to people who are on their 4th, 5th version of their portfolio! No! No! No!…. You need to change the way you are Attacking the Problem! #ThinkDifferent #PlayTheGAME #BuildAnAUDIENCE #PutOutCONTENT #BecomeVISIBLE #CreateINTERACTIONS #WIN

I thought she would be excellent, but I was wrong! Last month, our agency hired a graphic designer who, unfortunately, did not meet our expectations. My team and I were impressed by her portfolio and immediately hired her after a quick interview. However, how things unfolded was not what I predicted, leading us to decide to terminate her employment. Why we fired her: - Missing deadlines. - Wanting everything handed to her. - Lack of eagerness to learn new things. - Desperate requests for her paycheck. - Dependence on my guidance for all tasks, both small and big. While I don’t mind sparing some time to teach my intern, But I do have an issue if they keep asking for assistance with every task assigned to them. We used to hire people based on their future potential but after this experience, I've decided to prioritize hiring based on their current quality of output. Hiring a good employee is a lengthy process, - Requiring patience. - Active observation. - Technical knowledge. - Professional experience. - Focus not only on skills but also on intellectual qualities. We acknowledge our mistakes and learn from them to avoid repetition. P.S. What's the first question recruiters ask their potential employees? #digitalamarketing #hiringprocess #linkedincreator

I had zero experience. When I started, I was a mess. All I had to offer was my ⏩ Passion, & ⏩ Potential Until a founder put his trust on me and hired me as an intern. 💫 The design industry needs to value passion and potential as much as experience. For those in hiring, consider this: 💫 Look beyond the resume. 💫 Allow junior designers to work under experienced designers. 💫 During interviews, focus on their ability to learn and adapt and problem-solving skills. In the long run, that matters most. To get your resume or portfolio reviewed, book 1:1 with me. Lets have a quick chat. #uxdesign #job #juniordesigner #linkedincommunity
