Title: "Waves of Passion" by Rick McCawley
Over 65 years, I've pursued a life rich in music and visual artistry, striving to capture the beauty in fleeting moments that others might overlook. This music video, which I have affectionately named "Waves of Passion" embodies over a half-century of my artistic journey—blending life's passions with state-of-the-art technology.
Tools Used in Production:
My Original Photography: Leveraging my 25-year "Water Woman" project, I utilized Mid Journey's /describe command to evolve my photography into new, dynamic forms.
Mid Journey: A powerhouse of creativity, generating over 120,000 images in the last two years, this is a curated tiny sample of thousands of hours of production, that shaped the visual narrative of this project.
Suno.ai: Infused with my own words and reflecting my deepest emotions, this tool helped orchestrate the music that threads through the visuals.
Photoshop: Essential for retouching and expanding the imagery, retouching each element ensuring every frame was perfect.
KREA: Transformed still images into flowing video, enhancing quality and depth to bring stillness to life.
Dream Machine by Luma: The newest addition to my toolkit, used to create captivating 30-second clips, each upscaled for maximum impact.
I designate this work: "Signature Worthy" as a testament to a life spent in pursuit of artistic excellence.
Each frame is steeped in my humanity and dedication, meriting my signature not just as a mark of creation, but as a seal of my lifelong passion.
I invite you to experience this journey with me,
Rick McCawley

The impact of colour on mood
Do you ever look at a painting and suddenly feel a wave of calm wash over you? Art is made to evoke an emotional response, and often colour plays a big role. Warm colours, such as red, orange and yellow can make us feel comfortable and happy. Cool colours, such as green, blue, indigo and violet can make us feel calm and serious. When we look at certain colours, we feel different emotions.

As professionals, we often seek meaning in our work and lives.
And recently I had the privilege of visiting an enclave of artists, led by the inspiring Philip Gabriel Steverson, housed in a vibrant teal building.
It was a sanctuary of creativity and life stories.
Philip's approach to art is deeply rooted in his experiences and philosophies. His studio, a meticulously organized space, is filled with artifacts of his journey. From a binder of found treasures to his mother's annotated bible, each item tells a tale of love, loss, and resilience.
What struck me most was Philip's perspective on art and life. For him, creating art transcends the act of painting or sculpting; it's a process of self-discovery and giving back to the community. His experiences, from the brink of homelessness to finding solace in creation, shape his empathetic approach to life and art.
Philip's journey is a testament to the power of art as a medium for healing and expression. His story is one of transformation, from struggling to find his place in the world to becoming a beacon of inspiration in the art community.
Every time I meet someone like PGS, I get reminded that inspiration is all around me. I just need to open my eyes.
