The container missile system is an advanced approach that combines missiles and equipment in standard containers for efficient deployment and launch. This system offers several benefits. Firstly, it disguises the missiles as regular containers, ensuring stealthy transportation and deployment. Secondly, its modular design allows for quick installation on various platforms, enabling rapid response to threats. Lastly, the system integrates multiple functions, including missile control and communication, within a single container, ensuring combat readiness. In essence, the container missile system offers stealth, rapid deployment, and integrated functionality, enhancing combat effectiveness in modern warfare. #container #tank #vessel #3D #logistics #shipping #transportation

Great article by the The Wall Street Journal highlighting the strain on the munition supply chain in light of the recent attack on Israel by Iran. The cost of intercepting the Iranian barrage attack on Saturday night was somewhere between $1b and $1.3b USD. Each Patriot battery (32 missiles per battery) costs around $1 billion. Jet Fighters, which were also used in the defense can cost between $30m to $109m depending on the aircraft type and variant. One of the leading Counter-Drone companies, Epirus is quoted in the article below that they can have their product in theatre by later this summer (read: IF on contract). RTX is set to have a high-powered microwave Counter Drone PROTOTYPE ready for delivery NEXT summer. Our defense of this new age of warfare is costing TOO much and moving TOO slow. In my RealClearDefense article talked about how "We are still using doctrine and technology from a previous era - this may have worked on Saturday night but was costly and shows a lack of incorporation of innovative solutions to defeat a modern threat." (https://lnkd.in/e3n_Dw5v) Technology is only part of the equation. We must innovate both our technology and our doctrine to combat this new era of warfare. Lets build for defense. 🇺🇲 🛡 #build4defense #buildfordefense #nationaldefense #defenseinnovation #defensetechnology #defensetech #nationalsecurity #DoDx #nationalsecurity https://lnkd.in/dtwQs2Hn

This is Sea-Based X-Band Radar Station or SBX, a 50,000 tons, twenty-six stories, football field sized seagoing vessel that houses the world's most sophisticated (and expensive) phased-array, electro-mechanically steered X-band radar. The unique "floating" radar station is designed to detect, track and discriminate incoming missile threats to mainland USA. It's said that the SBX's radar is so powerful that if placed in the Chesapeake Bay, its radar would be able to see a baseball-sized object in orbit over San Francisco, some 2,900 miles away. It's a key component of US anti-ballistic missile defence.

After the Tanks, APVs, Large Radar and Air Defence complexes, now the AEW&C are getting targeted and battered. If Big isn't Beautiful anymore, distributed deployment is a challenge by itself. For any Airforce to maintain the safety of skies, these platforms are an absolute necessity, but if the hunter is getting hunted, does that mean that the detection strategies must climb Stratestopheric heights or stay closer to the ground. #WALAT3M is possibly an alternative, coming soon. #AdiBis, restoring #Safeskies

The Bundeswehr has awarded Rheinmetall a substantial order for decoy flares for protecting aircraft. The German military can now procure over 470,000 decoys from Rheinmetall’s tried-and-tested Birdie product line. Covering the period December 2023 to December 2029, the contract is worth nearly €50 million. Birdie is an acronym standing for “Bispectral Infrared Decoy Improved Efficiency”. Marketed by Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH of Fronau, these infrared decoys, or ‘flares’, are ejected from helicopters, transport planes and jets to distract oncoming infrared-homing guided missiles. The flares simulate the heat signature of exhaust gases emitted by the aircraft engine. The current contract specifies delivery of two different Birdie products: IR-Birdie 118 BS and IR-Birdie 218 BS. Both are already in service with the Bundeswehr, which refers to them as “Decoy, Aircraft, DM189A1, PT” and “Decoy, Aircraft, DM169A1, PT”, respectively. Owing to the current security situation, aircraft self-defence has come sharply back into focus again. Decoys are one way of accomplishing this. Among other things, these include pyrotechnic flares, i.e., products designed to distract infrared search head-equipped surface-to-air missiles (SAM) and air-to-air missiles (AAM). Other techniques include chaff for thwarting enemy radar, and smoke-obscurant munitions such as Rheinmetall’s fast-acting ROSY smoke screen. https://lnkd.in/eB9f2n4H #Rheinmetall #Bundeswehr

#Word_Wake_UP❗. #Stop_russian_terror🔥 Today, early morning, there was a #massive_rocket_attack on the cities of #Ukraine🇺🇦. #Kyiv: there are wounded, among them a children. By russian's " #HIGH_PRECISION_missiles " were damaged a number of objects of #civil infrastructure and #residential_buildings in eight districts of the capital of Ukraine, one of them - on the video. The air alert lasted almost #6_hours in total. At first, the enemy launched approximately 15 barrage munitions of the "Shahed" type at the capital of Ukraine. And after them, more than a dozen Tu-95MS strategic bombers launched Kh-101/Kh555Kh-55 cruise missiles in groups and waves. At the same time as the missiles hit Kyiv, more than ten MiG-31K aircraft launched X-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missiles at the capital. All "Shahed" UAVs and more than 60 of X-101/X555X-55 missiles and a 10 X-47M2 "Kinjal" were hit by air defense forces and means (final type and number will be given by the PS). But as a result of such a massive missile attack in the capital, unfortunately, there is #destruction_residential_buildings, damage to infrastructure. There are victims. The operational summary data of consequencesis updated and clarified. Information about victims is collected and systematized.
