Entering business awards is a great way for Australian businesses to showcase their achievements, gain recognition for their hard work, and promote their business. How BS is corporate America, Anders? They are so BS...that they create fake awards for themselves. So, if you noticed, the largest companies in the US all claim they win awards every year, and that they win the MOST awards. But, these awards are all fake. What happens is that a hollow "award" company is setup, then a large company pays them around $100k to make an award just for them, then they win it each year they pay the fee. To me, this is FALSE ADVERTISING and should be stopped. Instead, it happens every year, its really obvious if you research the "award company," and its not going to stop.

From industry-specific accolades to national headline-grabbers, the allure of awards recognition is undeniable. But amidst this celebratory frenzy, a critical question emerges: are we, as businesses, succumbing to an oversaturation of Business Awards? Have these once-coveted symbols of achievement become diluted by sheer quantity? The answer, like most things in business, isn't a simple yes or no. Recognition remains valuable. A well-deserved award can elevate your brand profile, attract talent, and bolster customer confidence. However, a scattergun approach – entering every award under the sun – can backfire. Not only does it spread resources thin, but it risks devaluing the very recognition you seek. Here's why a strategic approach to awards is crucial for Australian businesses.➡️ https://lnkd.in/gbdWH9kD

PR for changemaker brands • showcasing what organisations do best • shining a light on social impact & sustainability • media relations & digital PR • award submissions • crisis communications • strategic storytelling
I know it’s awards season because… We’ve celebrated six client successes in less than two weeks, and there’s more on the way 🎉 Most recently we’ve had Goldings Communications clients get through to the finals of the SME Business Awards, be crowned winners in the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards, and a couple of other notable successes we can’t yet talk about 😉 It’s because the Goldings team is pretty damn good at compiling award-winning entries. It’s not a bold statement - it’s true. 95% of entries written by the team are successful (another reason why our awards packages are so popular!). But there’s always one underlying theme I hear when I get approached for support - and that’s lack of time 🕰️ Gathering evidence is a biggie too (naturally), but lack of time wins hands down. The application process can be lengthy, and many in-house marketing teams don’t have the capacity or resource to pull everything together by the deadline. “I can do it, but I just can’t fit it in” - I hear comments like this a lot 🙄 So, as more and more programmes are opening their doors for entries, I’d love to see more organisations make THIS awards season count. What puts you off entering and why?
