"Cliff was hired last year as a salesman in our Lonestar Region in Texas. He goes above and beyond the role of salesman, doing QC on jobs, and hopping in a mixer when needed. It seems like almost every day Cliff is calling with news of another big job he got for us, and we had to add mixers and drivers to keep up with all the work he gained us. He always has a positive can-do attitude and is a huge part of our future growth in Texas. Thank you, Cliff, for all you do." Nominated by: Jeramy Croell, Territory Manager Favorite thing about working at Croell: Getting to be a big part of this fast-growing, family-oriented company and enjoying the challenges that are asked of me to help this company grow. Most interesting project: Stephenville ISD football stadium - 20,000 yards! What advice would you give to someone who might want to join Croell: Be excited to be a part of this company. Don't be afraid to learn this product and how it works. Hobbies include: Spending time with my family and friends. Going out to listen to music with my wife. One thing people probably don’t know about me: I've been active in the fire service for 29 years. Bucket list: Building another antique truck. #CroellInc #EmployeeSpotlight #EmployeeRecognition

This! This is a perfect example of what I spoke to earlier this week, and I couldn't not share when I saw it this morning. The story of Jessica Rioux is a paragon of dedication and loyalty, and she is an exemplary professional with more knowledge than most who are actively in management and human resources departments (IMHO). Jessica started her career as a receptionist, and I would suggest she is way more than what her current title reflects. Her unwavering commitment and hands-on approach are what had her rising through the ranks. She embodies the very essence of growth and adaptability. And today, she stands as a testament to what dedication and continuous learning can achieve. You want to know what truly sets Jessica apart, though? Her story. We all have them. My favorite kind of inspiration are the stories, the achievements, the examples of others. Jessica has many, I am sure, but my favorite... Five years ago, as a single working mother, Jessica demonstrated extraordinary determination by pursuing and obtaining her BBA in Business Management & Human Resources - this is no small feat. And, mind you, I needed a little of that inspiration when I was first deciding whether or not I should go back to school. The hands-on experience she has collected over the last decade provides her with a unique perspective, enabling her to understand and address the nuances of workplace dynamics effectively. That experience makes her invaluable, her person Jessica mentions that Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." She, and many whose titles don't accurately reflect their contributions to their company, is/are a living embodiment of this philosophy, proving that collective efforts, guided by knowledgeable and dedicated individuals, lead to unparalleled success. Happy 10 years, Jessica, that Southern office is lucky to have you. #ProfessionalGrowth #HumanResources #Leadership #Dedication #CareerJourney #Inspiration #pulpandpaperindustry #chemicalindustry
Just over nine years ago, I accepted the position as receptionist at STEBBINS ENGINEERING. Much to my surprise, God had big plans to expand my horizons in the professional realm. Leaving the school system as a para professional, I had no clue the journey I would soon embark on. After eleven months at STEBBINS, I was offered the role of billing assistant. I accepted the role and embraced it with an open mind. Eleven months later I was asked to take on the role of Southern Operations Coordinator. Although I knew I desired growth, I was quite nervous. However, I pushed through the nervousness and embraced the challenge. It’s safe to say, I had no clue the depth of that challenge at the time. Yet, I persevered. Thankfully, many patient leaders took me under their wings and taught me about the role. My position as coordinator opened many doors of growth for me. It also opened my eyes to a whole new world that I hadn’t yet experienced. In 2018, I visited a jobsite for the first time in Fernandina Beach, FL. (Picture below) I was so proud to go out and see what I had a small part of bringing to fruition. To be a part of “the crew” for a few days gave me such a sense of pride. Today, after coordinating for seven years, I can honestly say that I have so much respect for the people in this industry. Being a part of it has afforded me the opportunity to meet many great people and appreciate the skill set of each individual. As I move toward my tenth year, I look forward to learning and growing much more with our team. “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

“The five C's of teamwork are critical components for building a successful and high-performing team. By focusing on communication, camaraderie, commitment, confidence, and coachability, you can create a team that is productive, engaged, and resilient.” https://lnkd.in/gBa2JTws. It’s been 5 months at Quick Quack Car Wash for me. I keep pinching myself as I look back on my list of requirements for my next role from my job search over the summer. I can’t seem to find one of those things missing from Quick Quack. I definitely won’t be quitting my day job to become a professional golfer. At least not for the next 10 years 😉 However, being apart of a team that encourages you through the misses and cheers on every win is pretty awesome. #carwash #recruiter #recruiting #teambuilding

Charleston's charm isn't just in its picturesque landscapes and historical architecture but also in the unique ways one can explore its rich history. One memorable chapter in my job journey found me selling carriage tour tickets, an experience that not only introduced me to the heart of Charleston but also offered invaluable lessons in sales, communication, and connection. Mastering the Walkie-Talkie In the bustling streets, coordinating tours meant mastering communication via walkie-talkie amidst the chaos of peak tourist season. It was a dance of listening intently and speaking clearly, making swift decisions to optimize each carriage's capacity. This experience honed my skills in efficient communication and decision-making, essential tools in any fast-paced environment. The Art of Engagement Engaging passersby with questions like, "How many pralines do you think this pigeon has eaten today?" became my strategy to spark conversations and, eventually, connections. Selling became less about transactions and more about creating memorable interactions, teaching me the value of genuine engagement and the resilience needed to face rejection with grace. Embracing Boredom In quieter moments, I learned to appreciate boredom as an opportunity for creativity and reflection. Whether devising new strategies to attract attention, befriending pigeons, or simply enjoying my thoughts, these moments of stillness were surprisingly fruitful. They reminded me of the importance of being present and finding joy in simplicity. Bonus: Animal Companionship Beyond the sales, my time at Olde Towne Carriage deepened my appreciation for the non-human residents of Charleston. Caring for Belgian draft horses retired from Amish farms was a rewarding experience that underscored the significance of empathy and caretaking, further enriching my summer of learning and growth. "What unconventional job have you had that taught you unexpected lessons?" Selling carriage tour tickets was more than a summer job; it was a journey into the heart of Charleston, filled with laughter, learning, and the occasional praline-fed pigeon. But most importantly, it was a reminder that every interaction, no matter how brief, is an opportunity to connect and make a lasting impression. I realized I wanted to be a tour guide. #Charleston #SalesSkills #CustomerEngagement #PersonalGrowth

Cheering students on in the world of banking! | University Recruiting Coordinator @ First Financial Bank
I ❤️ my job I often think back to my first job as a hostess at Texas Roadhouse. Standing at the host stand, I learned invaluable lessons that I still carry with me today. Every job is valuable!!!! You are always learning things that you will take with you to your next job. Here are some of mine from Roadhouse. ➡ Creating a positive environment Whether at work or in personal interactions, Texas Roadhouse taught me the importance of being warm and welcoming to everyone who walked through the doors ➡ Starting conversations with strangers I grew my skills in networking, ensuring that even a brief 5-10 second interaction could brighten someone's day. Still something I am striving to work on and improve to this day. ➡ Upselling There were always fun promotions and competitions. Upselling is definitely a skill that has proven useful in various professional settings. One memory that stands out is the back of our work shirts, with the words, “I love my job.” While I didn’t love every aspect of the job—sweeping mounds of peanut shells at the end of the night wasn’t my favorite—the shirt served as a constant reminder to approach work with positivity. When you show your customers that you love your job, they are more likely to love your company too. And let’s not forget those irresistible Texas Roadhouse rolls! Indulging in them during shifts was a perk, although our waistlines might have a different opinion. #firstjob #customerservice #careerlessons #positivityinwork

You're Just Renting That Job Title We've all been there - puffing out our chests a little bit when introducing ourselves with that hard-earned job title. "Hi, I'm John, the Vice President of Marketing at ABC Corp." But here's the reality check: You're just renting that title from your employer. Your true value and identity aren't tied to those few words before or after your name. They're anchored in your skills, experiences, accomplishments, and mindset that NO company can ever take away from you. The company owns the title, but YOU own your talents, drive, and ability to create value wherever you go. Your title is just a temporary label, much like a rental car or apartment. It's something you get to utilize for a period of time before inevitably moving on. So don't get too attached or let your self-worth get intertwined with that fleeting title. It's simply a set of keys the company has loaned you to help drive their vehicle for a while. Keep growing, keep delivering, keep being insatiably curious and hungry to learn. Because those brilliant mindsets, not the fading titles, are what will keep opening new doors throughout your journey. You're so much more than just that rented title. Never let yourself forget that. #careeradvice #professionalgrowth #identity #mindset

Recruiting Manager @ Singer Vehicle Design | Talent acquisition in luxury automotive manufacturing 🏎️
This week instead of a Wednesday Hot Job Update, I thought I'd share a few things I enjoy about working at Singer Vehicle Design HQ in Torrance, California: 🌟 First and foremost, is the all-star People Services team that I get to be a part of (picture below of about half of our team). 🚗 How cool is it that I get to see these beautiful cars every single day?! I also like seeing them progress through the production process. ✨ The absolute passion that everyone has here about cars, attention to detail, and the Relentless Pursuit of Excellence is unmatched. 💭 Being around innovation and forward thinking daily is truly inspiring. We're always pushing ourselves to new limits, while maintaining our heritage. 💡 Never a dull day; I like that I get to support every team from production to engineering, to supply chain to client experience in their hiring efforts. 🙋♀️ I learn something new every day, whether it's about automotive, recruiting, myself or my team. 🍫 The free lunches and snacks keep me fueled for busy work days. We also do a lot of company parties and events, which build camaraderie amongst the team. If you also work at Singer, comment below what you like about working here! 👇
