These Beach Cities in California save $182 million in healthcare expenses every year - thanks to continued hard work and commitment by Beach Cities Health District and the Blue Zones Project - Beach Cities team. "The good health exhibited by many adults in the Beach Cities area is likely in part the result of efforts of the Beach Cities Health District (BCHD), which regularly organizes events and activities meant to enhance various aspects of wellbeing for local residents. One important aspect of these efforts by the BCHD was sponsoring the involvement of the Blue Zones Project, which specializes in transforming the local culture of well-being through various means, including modifying the built structure -- such as adding bike paths -- and recruiting local businesses, restaurants, grocery stores and schools to participate in local initiatives. Since 2010, the Blue Zones Project has had an ongoing presence in the community to help create a culture of well-being."  Thanks to Gallup for this research, and Thomas Bakaly and Lauren Nakano, EML, and everyone else doing the hard work on the ground.

Blue Zones, the global leader in longevity research and well-being solutions, and ACLM, the U.S. medical professional society representing what is now more than 11,000 physicians and other healthcare professionals who are dedicated to treating the root cause of chronic disease, will establish a new clinician certification status of Blue Zones-Certified Physician or Blue Zones-Certified Healthcare Professional.
