Asking The Right Questions As a small or midsized company evaluating the services of a potential vendor, are you asking enough questions? I know we're all focused on features, price, and value (did I mention price?). But do we spend enough time asking about things like their business plans, stated values or ownership structure? When it comes to key business partners, these questions may give us information about their future directions, corporate accountabilities and key motivators. If you think about your own businesses, are the interests of funders, investors or other stakeholders sometimes at odds with your ability to provide quality customer service? Based on my experience talking to prospects, I find that these sorts of questions are rarely brought up. Or if they are, it's often an afterthought or during the chit chat that happens as you're leaving the meeting. To me, it reveals a blind spot that may exist in the way business decision makers sometimes evaluate vendor relationships. #msp #managedservices #customerservice #customerfirst
