We are currently overseeing a prestigious ground-up commercial project in Cedar Park, envisioned by our client as a standout development. The project involves designing and building a 40,000-square-foot commercial complex consisting of six retail buildings. Our client provided a conceptual plan and set a challenging deadline of nine months for the design and permit approval process. We successfully submitted the civil submittal to the City for review within four months. Now, we are on track to submit the architectural set within a month. We are confident that we will receive permit approval soon and can begin groundbreaking for this project. Since the project's inception, we have coordinated all teams efficiently to meet the client's requirements within the tight timeframe. By managing teams effectively and ensuring the accuracy of our submissions, we have expedited the permitting process. Wangard Partners on Monday announced the groundbreaking of “The Landing at Hub City,” a 156-unit apartment development on the west side of Carr Road and south of Kiley Way in Plymouth, Wis. Navigating the Modular Construction Process: Best Practices & Lessons Learned **May 15, presentation 2-4pm; reception following, 4-6pm--San Francisco** Join us for an educational presentation on modular construction’s best practices, with a follow-up Q&A session. While our panelists will be talking about modular through the lens of affordable housing construction, the best practices and lessons learned can be applied to all types of modular construction. We will follow the flow of a typical new affordable housing development through its typical stages (project conception, design, permitting, construction, and closing) and will discuss optimal approaches for each stage. Modular construction is especially attractive to affordable housing owners and developers due to cost constraints and the conceptual savings in time and money that modular approaches can bring when executed properly. As modular building is relatively new or unfamiliar to a lot of people in the industry, we will inform on how to effectively navigate the process, so you end up with a successful project. In this presentation, the panelists will focus on the most common type of modular that an affordable housing developer is likely to build due to being most cost effective/efficient—mostly wood-framed construction 3 to 5 stories in height, possibly installed over 1 or 2 levels of concrete podium construction.
