Our undocumented communities need our support and NOW is the best opportunity to act. Here are 5 actionable tips to support them: 📲Share Know your Rights info on social media, in emails, texts, and through other forms of communication. Find Know Your Rights cards in multiple languages at https://lnkd.in/guu96-fH 🖨️Print out Know Your Rights cards and other resources. Post them in public areas, bring a stack to restaurants, nail salons, schools, libraries, and more. Find Know Your Rights cards in multiple languages at https://lnkd.in/guu96-fH 🫂Offer carpools, grocery and gas gift cards, childcare, meals, emotional support, documentation support, legal support, and other resources. Community care matters in times of injustice and it’s important that we stay close to each other and support one another as much as we can. 👀Start a neighborhood ICE watch group & make plans to ensure silence and legal disobedience if ICE shows up. You can do so through local neighborhood pages, by going door to door (safely), or by asking folks locally. Use your privilege to distract/disobey ICE. It’s our responsibility. 🤫Stay SILENT about immigration status. Even if you’re talking to someone you trust, and you’re not naming names. NEVER SHARE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT SOMEONE’S STATUS! I cannot stress this enough. Too many folks are sharing this on social media, and this puts both you & your loved ones at RISK. Finally— if you want more resources to support migrants and plan for safety, please check out our highlights section on Instagram (@intersectionALL_) We have a “For Migrants” highlight that lists tons of resources you can share! #Undocumented #Immigrant #Activism #CommunityCare #Collectivism #PoliticalStress #Leadership #ICEWatch #Resource

An important reminder in this day of the #worldhumanitarianday we need to keep in mind that an estimated 30 million children worldwide are on the move, exposing them to numerous risks. Whether they are internally displaced or forced to leave their home countries, they face high risks of abuse, exploitation, violence, and trafficking. Beyond the immediate dangers of injury and death, these children often lack essential services, which severely impacts their current and long-term development and well-being. Thanks to the unwavering commitment of ChildFund International team members and our Local Partners, we are tirelessly working to protect children from harm during this prolonged global emergency. #humanitarian #childrenonthemove

Thank you ABN News for speaking with us this International Day of the Girl Child. Girls are our future, and they deserve a choice and say in their own future. That’s why the British High Commission in Pakistan has helped over 2 million girls to access a decent education, unlocking choices for their future. It’s why we’ve supported over 1000 social projects, led by young people tackling issues faced by their communities, including street harrassment, child marriage and the rights of marginalised groups. It’s why we worked directly with communities to develop radio and text message campaigns against child marriage and gender based violence which reached over 34 million people. It’s why we have established over 1000 community forums, bringing people together to tackle entrenched views on issues such as child marriage, and then come up with and enact solutions together as a community. And it’s why we connect community forums to the Government, so they can contribute to policy change. Girls are our future. So let’s listen to them today.

Like the members of the Asso RAIF , I was trafficked, my identity had been changed and erased. 25 years ago on my very own I started to fight for my own rights. A fight which was challenging. Based on this we can today assist victims/ adoptees who were adopted/ trafficked from India. RAIF’s mission is supposedly to defend the rights of adoptees. But how does it help french adoptees to defame us? The information about the original identities of victims / adoptees is in India. In 80 percent of the cases, an adoptee won’t find any record about their indian family in France. RAIF is apparently pro trafficking as well. They denounce only so called “illegal” adoptions. Implying that the Hague Adoption System works well. RAIF claims they can guide adoptees in tracing back their families. That is a lie. It is a shithouse that adoptee activists create here. All what they ll achieve is more funding for International Social Service; who have never solved cases in India. Defacto RAIF is damaging adoptees/ victims

✨Children’s Rights are human rights On International Human Rights Day, I want to discuss the pressing issue of street kids in many Nigerian cities especially, Calabar. It's alarming how easily parents abandon their children, forcing them to fend for themselves on the streets or engage in hawking and begging to support their families. Should children provide their own food and shelter, or is it the responsibility of parents and guardians? Many individuals have shown kindness to these children by offering shoes, food, and money when they encounter them on the streets. However, it will take more than charity to address this fast growing issue. Shockingly, some households force their children out due to baseless accusations of witchcraft. How can a child be thrown out of their safe haven simply because of superstition? These children face unimaginable hardships, including starvation, physical abuse, and confinement. To survive, many have resorted to child prostitution, pickpocketing, and scavenging. Some even turn to drug abuse, which exacerbates the problem. Although laws are in place to protect these children, it seems like society has turned a blind eye. As you walk through the streets, you'll see children rummaging through dumpsters or begging for money. If you're not careful, they might even steal from you. As the saying goes, "children are the leaders of tomorrow." Every child's life and dreams matter. If this issue is not addressed promptly, we'll face a much larger problem as a society. Parents and guardians should be held accountable for abandoning their children, whether by displacing them from their homes or forcing them to hawk and provide for themselves. This must stop! Every child deserves a safe and healthy home; it's their right, and no one should give up on them whenever they please. #calabar #internationlhumanrightsday #crossriver #childsrights #edithwrites #rightsacademy #wethepeople

"Stolen Ukrainian children put up for adoption on websites" This story about the #deportation, re-education, and forced #adoption, of hundreds of #children taken from #Donbas regions of #Donetsk & #Luhansk, is not referenced enough. According to the report by Yale School of Public Health's Humanitarian Research Lab, at least 314 children have been brought to “midpoint” accommodation centres in #Russia, after which they were either placed with a Russian family or in re-education camps before being naturalised as Russian #citizens. Then, with new Russian identities, often fake names, back stories, videos and pictures, the children are then placed on state-backed adoption databases. The websites allow viewers to select children from Donetsk, Luhansk, #Kherson and #Zaporizhzhia – four #Ukrainian regions partially occupied by Russia. Yale's report was completed over 20 months, out of almost three years of #war. The report outlines a horrific seven-point programme of coerced adoption and #fostering. https://lnkd.in/dumDhNfa --- with thanks to The Telegraph's Joe Barnes for publishing this and stimulating a bit of conversation around, and focusing in on, a disturbingly overlooked #childrights issue...

Good news for singles looking to buy a home in Singapore! From mid-2025, the government will introduce a new Family Care Scheme that prioritizes access to Build-to-Order (BTO) flats for singles looking to live with or near their parents. This move aims to strengthen intergenerational support within families. Previously, this priority access was only available to married couples and their parents. The Family Care Scheme will have two components: * FCS (Proximity): Allows parents and their children, regardless of marital status, to apply for BTO flats near each other. * Details to be confirmed: More details will be released soon on how singles can apply for BTO flats with their parents. What are your thoughts on this new scheme? * Does it encourage stronger family bonds? * How can it be further improved to benefit singles? Let's discuss in the comments! Milson Ng
