5 things I wish I knew when getting into #SyncLicensing, pitching to #RecordLabels and #Publishers 1. No uncleared samples or interpolations… I lost out on a single with YG because the producer I got the loop from copied something else. 2. Not registering my works… Get with your #ASCAP rep, #SoundExhange and the #MLC and sort that asap! 3. Not having my tracks organized… We had over 5,000 tracks in a #Gdrive and it was taking us all day to find the right tracks for pitches. #SWAYZIO fixed that for us. 4. Non-Exclusive is not necessarily the best option. Many times you’re going through a middle man to get to the real players. If there’s somebody with proven record, consider doing exclusive deals. 5. Negotiate your fees! Always ask if it would be possible for higher fees, better terms etc. You never know!
