» #pride #pride2024 #LGBTQIA #diversity #diversity #EQIOM #CHR
At CRH, we foster a culture of fairness, inclusion, and belonging for everyone and this #PrideMonth we’re proud to show our support for our LGBTQ+ colleagues. We are committed to ensuring our workplaces are welcoming and respectful, where all our LGBTQ+ colleagues feel safe to be themselves. 🌈 #PRIDE #PRIDE2024

Our new survey across 26 countries finds gender, generational and geographical divides on everything from same-sex marriage to brands supporting the community. In this edition, Generation Z leads in LGBT+ self-identification (17%), with support for transgender rights rising to 78% among Gen Z women). However, the global perspective on LGBT+ rights differs vastly, and support for companies promoting LGBT+ equality has dipped to 44%, five points down on 2001 levels. 🏳️🌈 Celebrating National Coming Out Day with a Global Perspective 🌍 Today is National Coming Out Day, and we’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the diverse experiences of the LGBTQ+ community across different countries. Recent research identifies the top destinations for LGBTQ+ expats, shedding light on where communities are most supportive and inclusive. 📊 Leading the list, the Netherlands offers strong protections and a welcoming atmosphere, with Australia, Spain, Belgium, and Sweden closely following. These nations not only support LGBTQ+ rights but also promote a high quality of life for the community. 🌏 Brazil is notable for its vibrant culture and large LGBTQ+ population, though challenges persist in countries like Turkey and Poland, where acceptance is still evolving. 🎉 The United States hosts the most LGBTQ+ events, creating vibrant communities and fostering a sense of belonging. Everyone deserves the freedom to be themselves, everywhere in the world. #NationalComingOutDay #LGBTQ #ComingOut #Pride #Inclusivity #Diversity #ExpatsWelcome #LoveIsLove

We need to be more representative. When reviewing the makeup of boards for the 2024 Board Diversity Index, we found it very difficult to gauge the participation of people with disabilities on boards because there is limited data. Meanwhile, LGBTQ+ board appointments are slow coming. In general, there has been little improvement in the stubbornly low number of board seats occupied by people from frequently under-represented groups. Companies must broaden their concepts of diversity and avoid concentrating on one aspect of it, otherwise they risk missing out on talented candidates from different groups. RiSE up for PRIDE Every year, companies across the world show up in recognition of Pride. But the reality is that our LGBTQ+ community expect more than a once-a-year acknowledgement. They want to drive real change, where change is needed, and where better to start than the workplace. UCLA research states that 1 in 3 LGBT employees have left a job due to a lack of LGBT inclusion in their workplace. At RES, the work of RiSE has impacted our colleagues, networks, regions and businesses, and through their committed efforts RiSE have driven change and powered progress internally.
