I’m extremely proud of Shaun Regenbaum and Ezra Greenberg recent addition to nf-core/rnaseq, the gold standard pipeline for RNA sequencing in academia and industry. Our new tool enables automatic contamination testing in RNA sequencing analysis. We generated prebuilt indices, that makes it possible to detect exogenous contamination from over 100,000 species (bacteria, fungi, viruses, or cross-sample contamination) without an extra effort. Contamination ranging from mycoplasma to environmental bacteria and viruses leads to data misinterpretations and is widespread in academic research. Let’s bring it under control.
