Should I include a cover letter when I submit my resume to apply for a job? A lot of job seekers ask themselves that question. The easy answer is, NO. Just going with the resume means less work, but it also eliminates the chance to make a lasting impression. The cover letter is designed to complement the resume. It can allow you to tell your story more conversationally, and focus on why you would be a good choice for the position. In addition, you can include a persuasive closing message that can set you apart from other applicants.

When I see a cover letter, even if it is not a great one, it tells me that the applicant put a little time and thought into applying, maybe a drop of research, maybe an attempt to determine if they were a really good fit. Without a cover letter I feel like the applicant is just sending to everything and anything. Just my two cents!
