Today I'll show you how to develop analytical skills for thoroughbred investment. Like all of you, I started at zero in 1988. Back then, I didn't know how to analyze pedigrees, race records or market trends. But, over time, I mastered these skills by making mistakes, learning from them and taking deliberate steps to improve. Looking back, if I was to start at zero today, here's what I'd do: Step 1: Learn the Basics of Pedigree Analysis - Study the pedigrees of successful racehorses - Understand key bloodlines and their traits - Learn to identify strengths and weaknesses in pedigrees Step 2: Analyze Race Records Reviewing race records helps assess a horse's past performance, which is crucial for investment decisions. Step 3: Monitor Market Trends Finally, stay informed about market trends. - Follow industry news and sales reports - Network with experienced investors and breeders - Attend auctions to understand pricing dynamics It's not easy, but it is simple.

I devised this plan to have Kentucky Speedway rise from the dead and return to the NASCAR racing slate: 1. Increase the size of the track from 1.5 miles to 2.0 miles in length, but keep the track shape as a tri-oval. 2. Increase the banking in all four turns to 28 degrees, up from 17 degrees in turns 1 and 2, and 14 degrees in turns 3 and 4. Increase the banking in the tri-oval to 14 degrees, up from 8-10 degrees now. 3. Add more press boxes to the pre-existing front stretch boxes and build twin spires on the ends of them. Add flag poles to the tops of the spires, one flying the state flag of Kentucky, and the other flying the American flag. 4. Build hotel luxury suites across the entire length of the two speedway towers. I honestly still believe in the Kentucky Speedway, and its potential to be a great race facility that can provide exciting, competitive races. It just needs to be granted an opportunity for upgrades and revamps to the race track itself. So now I ask, how does this idea sound to everybody here? * * T * G * I * F * F * * (thank god it's focus friday) We are all running our OWN race. We can not compare our self to someone else's journey. Everything happens for a reason and it happens when it's supposed to happen. Not before. It may feel like we are running so hard to catch that carrot but the carrot will never be caught. We are not where the carrot is because we are simply not ready yet. What we need to concentrate on is the journey itself. We may not realize it, but the route we are taking is meant to be an educational course to teach us what we will need when that carrot is finally reached. We WILL make our mark, this, what we are doing right now, is not just us wasting time. This is us developing ourselves, sanding off the rough edges so that when we get our carrot, we are finely polished!
