We know a good night's sleep is important for all young people and that's why we're honored to donate beds to the newly opened Transitional Living Program: Rights of Passage (ROP) at Covenant House International, a shelter and service provider for youth experiencing homelessness. Thank you to the employees of Bob's South Loop, Chicago store for helping to make beds and particiapte in the ribbon cutting of the new facility.

Children of incarcerated parents are seven times more likely to become incarcerated. Do you feel called to help? Here are three ways to support our incarcerated fathers, mothers, and their families:
- Corporate Giving: A corporate gift directly impacts the community to help break the generational cycle of incarceration and broken homes.
- Planned Giving: Leave a legacy through a gift you've incorporated into your estate.
- Endowment Fund: When you give to the Mike and Debbie Broyles Endowment for Incarcerated Families, we will establish 16 new Malachi Dads and Hannah’s Gift Programs annually.
Our needs continue to grow – please donate to restoration now: https://lnkd.in/gDCpndwB.

Today we launched a new self help tool for people facing family violence - a Home of Your Own. It's about understanding your rights, and taking action.
We know that family violence is a leading cause of housing insecurity for women and children, who represent three-quarters of people accessing homelessness services. We also know the numbers of people at risk continues to grow and that the impact of violence and homelessness radiates out into the community.
This tool was co-designed with women who've lived experience of family violence and homelessness, together with frontline community workers. By answering a few anonymous questions about their situation, renters facing family violence can learn about their rights, and be directly supported to take practical steps in maintaining or accessing safe housing, including by creating personalised documents to communicate with their rental providers.
Please share with anyone who might need it.
📢 Introducing Home of Your Own: our new, free, self-help tool for people facing family violence to understand their rights and take early, preventative action to safely avoid homelessness.
🏠 Co-designed alongside women with lived experience of family violence, Victorian renters can answer a few anonymous questions to learn about their options to safely:
🔐 Stay in a rental
👜 Leave a rental, and
🌱 Get a new rental home
➡️ Use Home of Your Own: https://lnkd.in/g7FZgn-8
Justice Connect is grateful for the visionary support of ERDI Foundation, Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner in making Home of Your Own possible 🤝
As many of you know, I became a board member of Raphael House SF this past year. Many of you don't know that I found myself homeless as a teenager, an experience that impacted me on so many levels. An experience I want to help ensure no other child has to endure. I realize that everyone has opinions on the homeless crisis, but I think the one thing that we can all agree on is that the streets are no place for our children or our youth. Raphael House's mission is to keep families together and safe when facing or experiencing homelessness; without organizations like Raphael House, families would have to separate to be in other shelters or remain on the streets. A terrifying ordeal for everyone involved, but especially for the kids.
Now the ask.... Raphael House SF is facing the possibility of closure. While the go-forward plan is solid, we must bridge an immediate gap. Any size donation would be greatly appreciated. The link is listed below. I am also reposting the official campaign for anyone interested in learning more about this wonderful organization that I am so proud to be a part of.

Call to Action! Our shelter and vital family services are at risk. Join us in securing a brighter future for homeless families. Every contribution counts.
Since our founding, Raphael House has provided over 20,000 individuals with personalized family-centered solutions to build brighter, independent futures. On average, 90% of the families we serve in our Residential Shelter achieve stable housing, and 93% maintain that stability long-term through our Bridge Program.
This past year, we served:
- 338 children with direct services through our Residential Shelter and Bridge programs
- 58 families in our Bridge case management services
- 12,372 meals to families in our shelter
Without increased funding, we are at risk of closing, leaving families experiencing homelessness without the support they’ve been providing for over 52 years.

The Prime Legacy of Global Powerhouse | Dan Murphy's | Gregory Anderson—The Empowering Influence of Empathy and Kindness in Corporate Social Responsibility: Inspiring Global Change for the Homeless
In a world where profit margins are often prioritized over compassion, an individual has emerged as a beacon of hope for the homeless population through an universal commitment to kindness and empathy. Dan Murphy, a visionary leader in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR), has not only successfully raised funds to support the homeless but has also initiated a global movement of goodwill and social transformation.
The intersection of CSR, ethical leadership, and societal impact has never been more crucial than in today's increasingly interconnected world. Murphy's actions serve as a poignant reminder of the transformative power that businesses possess in shaping a more equitable and inclusive society. By extending a helping hand to those in need, he has not only alleviated the suffering of the homeless but has also sparked a ripple effect of generosity and compassion that transcends borders and cultures.
At the core of Dan Murphy's endeavors lies a deep-seated belief in the ethical foundation of CSR – a belief that businesses have a moral obligation to make positive contributions to society and uplift those who are marginalized and vulnerable. Through his strategic framework for ethical leadership, a new standard for corporate philanthropy has been established by Dan Murphy, one that prioritizes empathy, kindness, and authentic human connection above all else.
As we navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world, Dan Murphy's example serves as a guiding light for both businesses and individuals. His actions remind us that true leadership is not solely measured by profits but by the impact we have on the lives of others and the legacy of compassion we leave behind.
In an era characterized by uncertainty and division, let us draw inspiration from Dan Murphy's remarkable journey and commit ourselves to creating a world where kindness and empathy are paramount. Together, we can forge a future where every individual – regardless of their circumstances – is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

💙 Dan Murphy's National GIVIT Day - Saturday 22 June 💙
Did you know that on any given night,122,494 people in Australia are facing homelessness?
If you’re heading to a Dan Murphy’s store this Saturday, we’d love your support to help us reach our goal of $250,000 to help the homeless this winter.
You’ll see our team members donning beanies, hosting BBQs or running raffles, all in the name of lifting the bar for our community.
As always Dan Murphy’s proudly kicks off every appeal with a $100,000 donation.
The wonderful people at GIVIT.org.au do amazing work every day, channelling generosity where it’s needed to support vulnerable people and communities.
This past year I have proudly dedicated my time as a Board member and Volunteer to Humble Design Chicago. They provide design services, donated furniture, bedding, kitchen items, curtains and everything else that goes into turning a house into a home for families that have successfully fought their way out of homelessness at no cost. Our work takes away the stress from our clients so that they can successfully focus on their families and their jobs, while being proud of what they have accomplished. This year we have seen an uptick in the amount of mothers, children and veterans seeking a fresh start. Our organization needs more support than ever to meet the increasing demand. We are seeking humble monetary donations from our Humble friends to help. It’s an investment that changes lives and our communities, as less than 6% of Humble Design clients return to homelessness after one year, compared with the national statistic of 50%.Just as we help our family and friends when they get their first place and have significant life changes, I would like to raise enough to help at least one family make this transition. Each deco day moves children off the floor and puts them into warm beds, give their parents peace of mind and hope, and allow families to gather and plan their futures around a kitchen table. Can I please get your help towards my goal by making a donation? What you give today helps Humble do a one-day home transformation that would typically take a Humble client more than 18 years to save enough money to do on their own. Every humble donation through the link below will add up to make this happen!

Dear LinkedIn community:
You’re probably well aware of the homelessness crisis in San Francisco, but you may not know how it affects young people specifically:
❕ Almost 14 percent of the youth experiencing #homelessness in San Francisco live in Bayview-Hunters Point.
‼️ African-Americans make up 38 percent of San Francisco's young and unhoused population, while constituting only 6 percent of the city's population.
🛑 The #1 barrier is San Francisco’s cost of living, especially sky-high rents and move-in costs.
As sobering as these facts are, the youth homelessness crisis in Bayview-Hunters Point is solvable. 3rd Street Youth Center & Clinic has helped more than 600 youth get off the streets and the organization just launched the “Keys To The Future'' 🔑campaign to continue finding permanent homes for Bayview-Hunters Point's young and unhoused. https://lnkd.in/gZjeUbyV
Between now and midnight on 12/31/23, the campaign aims to raise $125,000. Donations will go toward lowering the skyrocketing rents and move-in costs that have locked young people out of housing.
If you share 3rd Street’s belief that every young person deserves a secure path to a brighter future, please join me in making a #GivingTuesday contribution to Keys To The Future.
Thanks. 🙏🏿

Following a tragedy, we often ask ourselves, 'What can we do to prevent this in the future?' Last week was nothing short of tragic. But we are not helpless.
We can:
✅volunteer as a mediator or mentor
✅engage youth & families in our community
✅advocate for gun safety policies
✅donate to organizations supporting youth & families, and more.
It's up to each of us. What will you do?

Winter is coming! And its New England so "Winter" could literally mean anything. If you are facing financial insecurity, or without a house/home, this season is particularly harrowing.
During this season I will be working to connect our Generators to opportunities with Somerville Homeless Coalition to donate their time to some community service, and later this month, to donate warm winter clothing and high-need items. Being a good neighbor is checking to make sure their plates are full, and offering a warm coat before they need to ask. We're here to do both!
Generate: Time - to acts of service
Generate: Service - towards our neighbors and communities
Generate: Warmth - to keep our community safe from the turbulent winter season.
