However, today's first tip is not IT-related it is Pancake Tuesday 😀 Today in Olney, the historic Pancake Race is set to continue a tradition dating back to 1445. The event originated when a local woman, engrossed in cooking pancakes, heard the church bells ringing for Shrove Tuesday and raced to the church with pan in hand. Over the centuries, the race has evolved into a lively competition, with participants donning aprons and wielding frying pans while racing through the town. For those celebrating at home, here are some safety tips: 1) Use a non-stick pan 2)Use neutral oil like vegetable or canola 3) Use moderate heat to avoid burning 4) Avoid rooms with low ceilings! 😁 5) A 10-inch pan is the most common size to use 6) Flip with confidence! Why not try different fillings for 2024? Some popular ones are maple syrup, jam, fresh berries, and desiccated coconut all with a dollop of whipped cream.

The Mummelsee is a cirque lake located at an altitude of 1028.5 meters on the slope of the Hornisgrinde in the Black Forest. It covers an area of 3.7 hectares and has a depth of 18 meters. It is among the most visited lakes in Baden-Württemberg, as it is situated directly along the Black Forest High Road.

You want me to eat what? One of my fondest childhood memories is this little shop that sold bierocks. I found it so random that a Bierock stand and ski shop was in my Black neighborhood. At the time I had no idea what skiing was, and I definitely had not a clue about galuskies or Bierocks. Nor was I willing to try them. Fast forward 10 years and I attended college at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Ks. And coincidentally Volga Germans had settled in Hays, Ks. And what did I find myself eating, Bierocks and galuskies. LOL! 10 years later, I found myself in Breckenridge, Colorado on a ski slope. D!versity is SO important in many ways. We must move the conversation beyond saviorism. Beyond, me and my privileges saving others. Beyond I must be an ally because people need my help. We need to get to a place where we co-exist. Where differences are comforting. These white businesses did not have a problem being in my predominately Black neighborhood. I never had a problem with them. In fact, I felt comfortable browsing around the ski shop and ordering a drink from the Bierock stand. I felt comfortable that when it came time for me to try new things, I was willing to. I was comfortable with these things that weren’t culturally relevant to me, because they were familiar to me. And in an odd way, they were a part of my culture. Because white shops were comfortable being in community with Black folks. You know… We need Black shops in predominantly white neighborhoods. We need mosques next to the Lutheran church. We need the artist next to the scientist. We need to community. Occasionally when I visit home, I make sure to visit the community that shaped me. I drive by Central avenue and past a few of my fondest memories. The Slope Ski shop that sits on the north side of the street. And the Bierock stand that sits on the south side. It’s part of the under-construction Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail, which, when completed, will stretch from the east to west coasts of Florida, from Titusville to St. Petersburg. Clermont was founded in 1884 and incorporated in 1916, when its main industry was citrus production (that industry thrived until the 1960s). Today, it is the largest city in Lake County, one of the fastest growing counties in Florida. Its historic downtown is the heartbeat of the city, supported by Clermont Main Street, a passionate group of businesses and volunteers working to revitalize the area through a mix of public funding, grants, sponsorships and community events.
