If you are an Australian and have been interested in exploring the London, New York, Dublin or other legal markets - now is a great time to start having discussions to understand the best next steps for your level. While it is still a slow moving process, knowing what to expect and how to best position yourself for an overseas move is key. 🇦🇺 The Australian market continues to be very active, with opportunities for lawyers of all levels across various practice groups. "How's the market?" Short answer - it's looking promising. After a slow-ish end to the financial year (which always happens) our clients are in growth mode. Plenty of new opportunities coming to market, and a lot of movement off the back of lawyers receiving their pay increases, bonuses and promotions. Can't see it slowing down any time soon. It's a great time to be looking in-house. As always, some segments of the market are busier than others. Most of the roles we have available are at the 2 - 8 PQE level. It's still challenging for senior lawyers as opportunities are limited, and processes are very competitive. Some industries are also performing better than others. Tech is still lagging a little, but we are noticing a few roles trickling through in that space. Jake's exceptionally busy across the renewable energy and projects space. He's got 10 live roles available for construction, projects and property lawyers, in Sydney and Melbourne. Toby is working on a number of really exciting opportunities with consumer businesses. Think iconic global retail giants, and household-name Australian FMCG companies. He's also got a few roles in the healthcare and medical devices sectors. Again, across Sydney and Melbourne. I've got opportunities available across the retail, healthcare, investment management, financial services and charity sectors. Below is a snapshot of what we're working on.
