My method for protein calculation 👇🏼 ⚠️To be honest for EASE of calculating protein you can just keep it consistent whether you’re bulking, cutting or in maintenance at 1.0-1.6g per lb of lean body mass 🤏The small nuances of increasing protein for a cut or decreasing when you have a bigger calorie budget won’t make a MASSIVE difference as long as your total protein is consistent, you’re training hard, and recovering properly. The Thermic Effect of Food (TEF) refers to the energy required to digest, absorb, and metabolize the nutrients in the food you eat. Different macronutrients have different TEF values: 🥩Protein: 20-30% of calories consumed from protein are burned during digestion. 🍯Carbohydrates: 5-10% of calories are burned during digestion. 🥑Fats: 0-3% of calories are burned during digestion. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝘁 Since protein has a higher TEF than carbohydrates and fats, consuming more protein increases the number of calories your body burns during digestion. For example, if you consume 100 calories of protein, your body might use 20-30 calories just to process it, leaving you with only 70-80 net calories. During a calorie deficit, increasing protein intake helps preserve lean muscle mass. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than fat tissue, so maintaining more muscle mass keeps your metabolism higher. In summary, higher protein intake during a cut supports fat loss by increasing calorie expenditure through a higher TEF, preserving muscle mass, and enhancing satiety, all of which contribute to a more efficient and sustainable fat loss process.

### Three Positives of Taking Clear Whey Protein 1. **High-Quality Protein Source:** Clear whey protein provides a high-quality source of protein, rich in essential amino acids that are crucial for muscle repair and growth. It is particularly beneficial for athletes and fitness enthusiasts looking to enhance their muscle recovery and performance. 2. **Low Calorie and Fat Content:** Unlike traditional whey protein shakes, clear whey protein is often lower in calories and fat, making it an excellent option for those looking to manage their weight or maintain a lean physique while still meeting their protein needs. 3. **Refreshing Taste and Easy Digestibility:** Clear whey protein typically has a light, refreshing taste and is easier to digest compared to creamy protein shakes. This makes it a great choice for individuals who prefer a lighter, more hydrating post-workout drink or for those who may have digestive sensitivities to heavier protein supplements.

🥁🥁🥁 Ready for it?? The most overlooked nutrient that is essential for healthy detoxification is… PROTEIN 💥 Amino acids from protein are needed for phase 2 detoxification in the liver, which is the phase where toxic compounds from phase 1 are conjugated for elimination. Yep—conjugated 🤓 But you can get the full benefits of protein without ever knowing what that word means. Amino acids are also the building blocks of glutathione—the body’s master antioxidant and detoxifier. So what? So without enough protein, liver detoxification cannot work at full capacity, and toxic compounds can build up in the body. So next time you think about loading up on greens or garlic or lemon water…don’t forget to also grab a source of protein. Drop me a ❤️ if you agree. #healthydetoxification #everydaydetoxification #detoxsupport #loveyourliver #proteins #proteinfood #proteinpacked #proteinsnack #proteins💪 #proteinpower #macronutrients #macronutrition #macronutrient #fatlosstips #fatfueled #healthyfat #healthyfatsforthewin #satiated #cravingssatisfied #satisfiedcravings #fabfour #fab4 #foodgroups #foodgroup #balancedmeal #balancedmeals #eatmorefiber

The five basic tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. Did you know that umami, meaning "delicious savory," was first identified by Japanese scientist Dr. Kikunae Ikeda in 1908? Dr. Kikunae discovered that umami is made of glutamate, one of the 20 basic amino acids. Interestingly, once an infant is born, breast milk, rich in free amino acids, becomes its primary source of nutrition for the first few months. Glutamate, with a concentration of 44.17%, is the most abundant amino acid in breast milk, providing infants with the taste of umami they are already familiar with from the womb.
