The STEP HFpEF study was presented, showing positive effects of semaglutide 2.4mg/week. This trial shows us a greater reductions in KCCQ, BNP, PCR and HF with an increase distance in the 6min walk test. Although these are soft endpoints, it does nothing but excite us as we await the details of the SELECT study that will finally be presented at the AHA meeting. I believe, beyond what the new HF guideline released this morning said, that arGLP1 has a place in HF, especially HFpEF by virtue of obesity being an important driver of impaired relaxation ventricular and inflammation. #ESCCongress

To be clear, we don't measure kidney function in percentages but it was the best approximation I could think. I'm sure other kidney doctors use that as well as a substitute for how we measure kidney function - estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
